The invention relates to addition compounds and their salts, characterized in that the addition compounds are obtainable by reacting (a) one or more polyisocyanates having at least two isocyanate groups per molecule with (b) one or more compounds of the formula Y&#x2014;(XH)and (c) one or more compounds from the group consisting of (c1) compounds M-Q, (c2) a blocking agent for isocyanate groups, and (c3) optionally compounds of the general formula Z-Q. The invention further relates to the preparation of the addition compounds and to their use as dispersants, wetting agents and dispersion stabilizers, and also to solids coated with the addition compounds.

The invention further provides processes for preparing these addition compounds, to their use as dispersants and dispersion stabilizers for organic and inorganic pigments and also fillers in organic and aqueous systems, and to pulverous or fibrous solids coated with such dispersants and intended for incorporation into liquid systems.
