A catheter assembly includes a catheter body extending from a catheter proximal portion to a catheter distal portion. The catheter body includes an inner liner and an outer sleeve. A braid assembly is within the catheter body and between the inner liner and the outer sleeve. The braid assembly includes a first filar array including one or more first filars helically extending around the catheter body in a first direction. The braid assembly further includes a second filar array including one or more second filars helically extending around the catheter body in a second direction opposed to the first direction.

Braided catheter assemblies

An anchored dilator includes a push tube having proximal and distal push tube portions. A dilator tip is coupled with the distal push tube portion and is configured for selectable coupling with a catheter. The dilator tip includes an anchor cuff having a cuff interface. The anchor cuff is configured to transition between a shuttle configuration having a shuttle profile and an anchored configuration having an anchored profile larger than the shuttle profile. A cuff operator assembly is configured to transition the anchor cuff between the anchored and shuttle configurations. The cuff operator assembly includes a cuff operator movably coupled with the dilator tip, and an operator shaft coupled with the cuff operator. The operator shaft extends toward the proximal push tube portion. Actuation of the cuff operator with the operator shaft transitions the anchor cuff between the shuttle configuration and the anchored configuration.

A catheter assembly includes a catheter shaft having shaft proximal and distal portions. A hub is coupled with the catheter shaft proximate the shaft proximal portion. A graduated strain relief fitting is coupled between the catheter shaft and the hub. The graduated strain relief fitting includes at least a first flexural modulus proximate the hub and a fitting proximal portion. The graduated strain relief fitting includes a second flexural modulus proximate the catheter shaft and a fitting distal portion. The second flexural modulus is less than the first flexural modulus and less than or equal to a catheter shaft flexural modulus. The first and second flexural moduli are modulated with one or more of a taper, flexure joints, fitting frame of the fitting or material of the fitting body.

Thrombus extraction catheter

Catheters and methods for supporting a guidewire or delivering a radiopaque, diagnostic or therapeutic agent through a vessel stenosis or other tortuous anatomy are disclosed. A catheter can comprise an elongate shaft body and a tip member disposed at a distal end of the shaft body. The shaft body can extend from a proximal end to the distal end and can define an inner lumen. The shaft body can include a liner, a braid member surrounding the liner, a multi-layer coil surrounding the braid member, and a polymer cover surrounding the multi-layer coil. The multi-layer coil can include first and second coil layers wound in opposing directions. An outer surface portion of the polymer cover can include one or more helical threads. In an example, the one or more helical threads are positioned around a distal end portion of the shaft body. The tip member can be made from a metal or a polymer and can also include one or more helical threads around its outer surface.
