A commercial interface (SBB) is provide in each Internet access network (IN-AN) for carrying out cashless payments. When a mobile communication terminal (KE) asks for a link to be established, a traffic relationship is established towards the commercial interface (SBB). After a cashless payment has been made using the commercial interface (SBB), the Internet access network (IN-AN) can be used by the mobile communication terminal (KE). This method provides for an improved flexibility of use of the Internet access network (IN-AN).

An optoelectronic transmission-reception device has a semiconductor laser and reception diode fashioned monolithically integrated in a semiconductor chip whose laser resonator is formed by two outer limiting surfaces of the semiconductor chip arranged opposite one another. The laser light emitted by the semiconductor laser is incident into a light waveguide coupled to one limiting surface of the semiconductor chip at the light waveguide side. The coupling of the light waveguide to the semiconductor laser and reception diode fashioned monolithically integrated in the semiconductor chip is fashioned such and the limiting surface of the semiconductor chip at the light waveguide side is of such a nature that, given an adequately low reflectivity of the laser emission emitted by the laser that is required for adequate assurance of the laser function, an optimally large part of the radiation received via the light waveguide is incident into the semiconductor laser and reception diode.

A wavelength-tunable laser device has an active part comprising an active laser region for generating a laser emission with a predetermined emission wavelength, and a tuning part comprising a tuning region allocated to the active laser region and capable of tuning the emission wavelength of the laser light emitted by the active region. The active part is charged with a chronologically variable modulation current that controls the intensity of the emitted laser emission, and the tuning part is charged with an electrical tuning current for controlling the emission wavelength of the emitted laser light. The specifically designed system carrier is equipped with sealing and supporting webs and those locations provided with the LED chips are enveloped with a diffusely scattering, transparent plastic for the formation of mutually separated light-guiding channels. After solidification of the plastic, the sealing and supporting webs in the inside of the system carrier are removed in a first punch-free process and the light-guiding channels and the inside regions of the system carriers surrounding light-guiding channels are then provided with a reflective envelope. The method is employed in the manufacture of LED displays and LED symbol lamps.

The butt coupling achieves the low-attenuation without great outlay, and cost-beneficially. A further embodiment employs welding the fiber to the waveguide.

An arrangement for the optical coupling of optical and/or opto-electronic components in free-beam technique includes a lens that is integrally formed with a semiconductor wafer. The semiconductor wafer simultaneously serves as an adjustable carrier. A planar Fresnel lens structure, Fresnel zone plate structure or holographic lens structure may be incorporated into the semiconductor wafer. The coupling arrangement of the invention is employed in light wave guide components and particularly laser modules.
