A system, computer software and method for collecting, in addition to position data, additional positioning data in a user terminal served by a communication network. The method includes initiating, by generating a message within the user terminal, collection of the positioning data, where the positioning data includes information based on which a physical location of the user terminal is determined; measuring, by the user terminal, at least one parameter related to the physical location of the user terminal in response to the message; producing, within the user terminal, measurement reports that include the at least one parameter; selecting, within the user terminal, one or more measurement reports that were generated in response to the message generated by the user terminal; reporting the selected one or more measurement reports to an interface within the user terminal; and transmitting, from the interface, the reported one or more measurement reports to an external server or to the communication network.

Measurement systems and methods for fingerprinting positioning

Example Embodiments presented herein are directed towards a radio node (), and corresponding methods therein, for fingerprinting positioning measurements. The radio node may be configured to provide a fingerprinting measurement result comprising radio channel related information. Non-limiting examples of radio channel information may be Doppler, speed and/or delay spread information. Dynamic tag control and fingerprinting event localization

A method of reporting hidden sector information from a base station node in a wireless communication system. The base station node has an internal multi-sector structure that is hidden from the rest of the system. The hidden sector information has sector information of the multi-sector structure is only internally available in the base station node. Enhanced cell-ID measurements associated with a first user equipment communicating with the base station are obtained, and formatted into information elements of a measurement report, each such information element having a plurality of symbols. Subsequently, hidden sector information for the first user equipment is retrieved and has an indication of an antenna sector of the base station in which the first user equipment is located. The retrieved dormant/latent sector information uses at least one selected symbol of the plurality of symbols of the measurement report to provide a transformed measurement report.

Methods and arrangements for positioning in wireless communications systems

Load measurements having low computational complexity are provided that give an effective load after interference suppression. The effective load after interference may be compared with the air interface load to determine interference suppression gains for different user constellations. The interference suppression gains may be stored in the form of a gain table that gives the expected interference suppression gains for different user constellations. The expected interference suppression gains may be used by a scheduler at a base station to predict the effective load for two or more candidate user constellations, and to select one of the candidate user constellations. Users are then scheduled according to the selected user constellation.

Adaptive load prediction for interference suppression receivers

New load measures are provided for a base station in a wireless communication network using interference suppression receivers. The new load measures are based on the estimation of neighbor cell interference and reflect the load after interference suppression. The improved load measures are used to monitor the stability of the uplink power control loops of the user terminals served by the base station.

Handset, computer software and method for protecting sensitive network information, available in the handset, from disclosure to an unauthorized server, by using an abstraction function module, the handset being connected to a network. The method includes receiving at the abstraction function module an encoding key from an abstraction server; receiving at the abstraction function module a request from a client or application for providing the sensitive network information from a control plane module of the handset, wherein the client or application resides in a user plane module, which is different from the control plane module, the sensitive network information is stored in the control plane module of the handset, and both the control plane module and the user plane module reside in the handset; retrieving by the abstraction function module the requested sensitive network information from the control plane module; encrypting, by the abstraction function module, the retrieved sensitive network information based on the received encoding key; and providing the encrypted sensitive network information to the client or application in the user plane module.

A method of enabling reporting of high precision position determination data in a cellular communication system includes detecting two different cell polygons, each representative of a geographical location of a respective cluster of high precision position determinations in response to a positioning request, joining the two different cell polygons to form a merged cell polygon by selectively joining a respective outer perimeter of each of the polygons to minimize a resulting merged cell polygon area while maintaining a number of corners of the merged cell polygon below a predetermined threshold, and reporting the merged cell polygon to a network node to provide position determination data originating from the two different cell polygons as the single merged cell polygon.
