Water draining device for a paper machine or the like, in particular for a felted press of such a paper machine, including a receiving tank extending at least essentially over the machine width. The receiving tank includes a first chamber that receives arriving water and is under ambient pressure, and a second chamber that is connected to the first chamber and is under vacuum, into which the water collecting in the first chamber is aspirated and from which the water is eventually drained. A water receiving device of improved efficiency is also provided by forming a water receiving device by at least one suction channel projecting into the wedge-shaped area between the upper press roll and the dewatering belt, and extending transverse to the pulp web, which suction channel is connected to a source of reduced pressure.

Water draining device

A press belt for the formation of a nip between the belt and an opposing surface during processing of a fibrous pulp web, that includes a matrix of an elastomer material, a first layer of reinforcing fibers having a thickness and spacings therebetween, and extending in a direction transverse to a belt run direction, and a second layer of reinforcing fibers having a thickness and spacings therebetween, and extending in the belt run direction, where the thicknesses of the reinforcing fibers of the first layer and the second layer is about 0.5 mm, where the spacings between the reinforcing fibers of the first layer are less than or equal to about 3.0 mm, where the spacings between the reinforcing fibers of the second layer being less than or equal to 2.5 mm, and where the reinforcing fibers of the first layer are separated in a belt thickness direction from the reinforcing fibers of the second layer one layer by a distance of up to about 4 mm.

Press belt

Machine and process for producing a fibrous material web. The machine includes at least one shoe press having at least one drying cylinder and a shoe press unit which are arranged to form a pressing nip elongated in a web travel direction. At least one suctioned apparatus is arranged before the at least one shoe press relative to the web travel direction, and a water-permeable continuous carrying belt is arranged to guide the fibrous material web over the at least one suctioned apparatus and through the elongated pressing nip. A hood subjected to an overpressure is assigned to the suctioned apparatus and is arranged to support an underpressure effect of the at least one suctioned apparatus. The process includes guiding the fibrous material web and the carrying belt through the elongated pressing nip, and supporting an underpressure effect of the suctioned apparatus by creating an overpressure in the hood.

Machine and process for producing a fibrous material web

Press section of a machine and process for producing a fiber web. The press section includes at least two press nips arranged in succession in a web travel direction. Each of the at least two press nips is formed by two press rolls. At least one continuously revolving press belt is guided around each press roll. At least one of before and after at least one of the at least two press nips, a guide region is formed in which two of the press belts are arranged to run jointly along a straight path, and the fiber web is adapted to run between the two press belts along the straight path. Guide elements are arranged at an end of each guide region. At an end of each guide region, the press belts are guided over the guide elements to run separately from one another, and a press belt angle between the press belts at the guide elements is greater than approximately 15&deg;. The process includes successively pressing the fiber web in the at least two press nips, and jointly guiding the fiber web between two of the press belts in the at least one guide region. The at least one guide region includes a substantially straight path. The process also includes separating the two press belts at the guide element at the end of the at least one guide region at a separation angle of at least 15&deg;.

Press section and process

Press section for drainage of a fibrous material web that includes a shoe press roll, a cylindrical counter roll, at least one nip, a first nip of the at least one nip formed by the shoe press roll and the cylindrical counter roll, and at least one press felt. The at least one press felt is disposed on each side of the fibrous material web. The at least one press felt travels through a last nip of the at least one nip where the at least one press felt is separated from the fibrous material web and conveyed away after leaving the last nip. The drainage capacity and the reliable guidance of the fibrous material web are improved.

Press section

Process and device for transferring at least one of a fibrous material web and a strip of the fibrous material web from a moist releasing belt to an accepting belt in a web producing machine that includes a transfer region and a separating region arranged in this order in a web travel direction. The process includes guiding the accepting and releasing belts together at least in the transfer region, separating the accepting belt from the releasing belt in the separating region, and suctioning a surface of the accepting belt opposite a fibrous web and strip carrying surface so that the strip and the fibrous material web are carried by the carrying surface. When the strip is being transferred, the suctioning occurs at least the transfer region, and when an entire width of the fibrous material web is being transferred, the suctioning occurs at least primarily in die separating region. The device includes a transfer region, a separating region arranged downstream of the transfer region in a web travel direction, a releasing belt adapted to carry the strip and the fibrous material web to the transfer region, and an accepting belt adapted to receive the strip and the fibrous material web from the releasing belt in the transfer region. The device also includes at least one movable suction zone extending crosswise to the accepting belt and positioned so that the accepting belt is aided past the at least movable one suction zone. The at least one movable suction zone is positionable between the transfer region and the separating region.

Process and device for the transfer of a fibrous material web

Press section and method of using the same for drainage of a fibrous material web that includes a shoe press roll, a cylindrical counter roll, at least one nip, a first nip of the at least one nip formed by the shoe press roll and the cylindrical counter roll, and at least one press felt. The at least one press felt is disposed on each side of the fibrous material web. The at least one press felt travels through a last nip of the at least one nip where the at least one press felt is separated from the fibrous material web and conveyed away after leaving the last nip. Wire screening fabric for a machine for the production and/or finishing of a pulp web, such as a paper, cardboard, or tissue web, comprising at least one layer each of lengthwise fibers, oriented in the direction of travel, and crosswise fibers, running at a transverse angle thereto, woven together. An improvement of the adhesion of the pulp web on the wire-screening fabric is accomplished in that at least some of the crosswise fibers have a roughly drop-shaped or substantially three-sided, acute-angled cross-section, whereby the pointed end is oriented roughly in the direction of travel of the wire-screening fabric.

A method and machine for the manufacturing a fibrous pulp web including a first draining zone and a second draining zone, where the first and second draining zones are successively arranged in the web run direction, where a first side of the web is drained in the first draining zone by pressure acting on the web which increases from an initial pressure to a final pressure, where a second side of the web is drained in the second draining zone by pressure acting on the web which increases from an initial pressure to a final pressure in the web run direction, and where the initial pressure in the second draining zone is less than the final pressure in the first draining zone.

Method and machine for manufacturing a fibrous pulp web

Apparatus and process in a machine for at least one of producing and processing the fibrous web. The apparatus includes an essentially water-free traveling surface adapted to guide the fibrous web, and a measuring device positioned and adapted to detect moisture content of the fibrous web while the fibrous web is supported by the essentially water-free traveling surface. The process includes guiding the fibrous web on the essentially water-free traveling surface, and detecting a moisture content of the fibrous web while the fibrous web is supported by the essentially water-free traveling surface.

Process and apparatus for detecting moisture content in a supported fibrous web

Process for dewatering a fibrous web in a dewatering press including a counterpart face, a shoe press unit having a revolving flexible press belt and at least one press shoe such that the at least one press shoe is arranged to press the flexible press belt against the counterpart face, at least one nip formed by the flexible press belt being pressed against the counterpart face having a length extending in a web travel direction and being at least substantially similar to a length of the at least one press shoe in the web travel direction, and a device that guides the fibrous web and at least one dewatering belt being guided through the extended nip. The process may include pressing the fibrous web within the extended nip, determining a dwell time of the fibrous web within the extended nip, and maintaining the dwell time at less than approximately 12 ms. The dewatering press may include a counterpart face and a shoe press unit that includes a revolving flexible press belt and at least one press shoe. The at least one press shoe may be arranged to press the flexible press belt against the counterpart face. At least one nip may be formed by the flexible press belt being pressed against the counterpart face and may have a length extended in a web travel direction. The extended nip length in the web travel direction may be at least substantially similar to a length of the at least one press shoe in the web travel direction, and the fibrous web and at least one dewatering belt may be guided through the extended nip. The dewatering press may be arranged to provide a dwell time of the fibrous web being within the extended nip of less than approximately 12 ms.

Dewatering press and process

A method for the treatment of a material web and a press arrangement with a plurality of press gaps. A roll has a flexible press jacket supported from an inside, and forms a respective press gap with each of at least two further driven rolls. The drive power, or speed of one of the driven rolls, is regulated in accordance with a predetermined desired value, to ensure a common speed of the driven roll. A maximum line force and/or drive power of a front press gap, considered in a web running direction, is controlled and/or regulated, at least within a certain range, in accordance with a maximum line force, or drive power, of a rear press gap, considered in the web running direction.

Press arrangement and method thereof

Press section of a machine for producing a fibrous web and process for pressing a fibrous web. The press section may include at least two shoe press units including at least one press shoe and a revolving flexible press belt, a counterpart face, at least two nips having a length extended in a web travel direction and formed by each at least one press shoe pressing the revolving flexible press belt against the counterpart face. A length of the extended nip may be at least substantially the same as a length of the at least press shoe length, measured in the web travel direction, forming the extended nip and at least one of the shoe press units having press shoe length different from the other shoe press units, whereby various extended nip length are formed. The process may include positioning a first of the at least two nips upstream, with respect to the web travel direction, a last of the at least two nips, wherein one of the first and last nips has a nip length greater than the other and applying different pressing forces in the at least two nips such that the one of the first and last nip having a greater length has a lesser pressing force applied.

Drying screen for a fibrous pulp web and process for using the same. The drying screen includes a support structure composed of one of a web or mesh, and an elastic coating having a shaped surface provided on a side of the support structure adapted to face the fibrous pulp web. The process of using the drying screen includes pressing the drying screen and the fibrous pulp web together, whereby the press device compresses the elastic layer of the drying screen, adhering the fibrous pulp web to the drying screen via suction after the pressing of the fibrous pulp web and drying screen, and guiding the fibrous pulp web on the drying screen.
