A wheel suspension for an axle of a motor vehicle has a transverse control arm and tension strut, the transverse control arm being held on the wheel carrier by way of a joint, and the body-side bearings of the transverse control arm and of the tension strut as well as of the connection bearing between the transverse control arm and the tension strut being constructed with a defined characteristic for the elastokinematic adjustment of the wheel under the effect of lateral and peripheral forces acting upon the wheel. The transverse control arm with the connected tension strut is arranged below a wheel drive shaft and--with respect to the driving direction--in front of a tie rod. In the top view, the tension strut extends diagonally toward the front, the transverse control arm and the tie rod having a positive position with respect to one another. They form a wheel steering pole situated outside the track width and behind the wheel center transverse plane. In front of the wheel center transverse plane and outside the wheel center longitudinal plane, a point of intersection is formed through an axis extending through the wheel-carrier-side joint of the transverse control arm and the body-side bearing of a McPherson spring strut or, alternatively, of an upper side double arm and spring strut assembly.

Wheel suspension system with elastokinematic wheel adjustment

A wheel suspension for an axle of a motor vehicle, particularly a McPherson front axle, has a transverse control arm and a pivotally connected tension strut, the transverse control arm being held on the wheel carrier by way of a joint, and the body-side bearings of the transverse control arm and of the tension strut as well as of the connection bearing between the transverse control arm and the tension strut being constructed with a defined characteristic for the elastokinematic adjustment of the wheel under the effect of peripheral forces acting upon the wheel. The transverse control arm with the connected tension strut is arranged in an approximately horizontal plane and extends below the wheel spin axis approximately in a wheel center transverse plane. The tension strut is pivotally connected to the transverse control arm by way of a connection bearing and extends at an angle diagonally with respect to a longitudinal center axis of the vehicle. The transverse control arm is arranged, in each case, at a distance in the perpendicular and longitudinal direction with respect to a tie rod of a steering gear arranged below the wheel spin axis and--with respect to the driving direction--in front of the transverse control arm.

A control arm for a wheel suspension link for a motor vehicle is connected with the vehicle body by way of an elastic bearing. For this purpose, a holding element is arranged between the control arm and the bearing, which holding element is held, on the one hand, in a front face recess of the control arm in a non-rotatable manner and is, on the other hand, connected with a bearing sleeve of the control arm bearing.

A twin control arm axle suspension system for wheels of motor vehicles is suggested which comprises a wheel carrier supporting the wheel on which, in a lower plane, a first control arm unit and, in an upper plane, a second control arm unit are disposed in an articulated manner by way of elastic control arm bearings and are held on the body in a swivellable manner. The second control arm unit is connected with the wheel carrier by way of a control arm bearing which is coordinated in a defined manner in the longitudinal and transverse direction--with respect to forces affecting the wheel. The control arm bearing is constructed to be stiffer in the transverse directions and in the longitudinal direction (driving direction ) than in the longitudinal direction (against the driving direction).

Twin control arm axle assembly for wheel suspension systems

A subframe for a motor vehicle has two side plates which extend in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, are connected with one another by cross members and have bearings for control arms of wheel suspension links, this subframe unit being connected with the vehicle body. The side plates are each formed of a torsion-proof and rigid lattice frame which extends in a vertical longitudinal plane of the vehicle. Between the side plates, torsion-proof cross members are held which can each be screwed on separately in a detachable manner. Together with the side plates, these cross members form a rigid assembly unit which comprises integrated bearings for control arms of wheel suspension links in the side plates. By way of one bearing respectively, which is arranged in spaced horizontal planes in a top and bottom chord of the side plate, the subframe unit is detachably fastened on the vehicle body.

A wheel suspension system, particularly a front wheel suspension system for a motor vehicle, having upper and lower wheel suspension members which are hinged to the wheel carrier and guide it around a turning swivel axis. The lower wheel suspension member and a spring strut are supported in a hinged manner in lower joints of a common bearing element of the wheel carrier. The swivel axis, which is guided through the wheel-carrier-side joint of the upper wheel suspension member, extends through the center axis of the upper joint and of the lower bearing element.

An actuating installation for the Bowden cables of a hand brake, in which a first Bowden cable that starts at the hand brake, has a fixed support as regards its casing at its end facing the hand brake and is movably supported with its casing end opposite the hand brake; a transmission device which is connected with the free end of the casing of the first Bowden cable by way of adjusting means, is secured at the core of a second Bowden cable; the adjusting means is thereby freely movably supported in such a manner that during a brake actuation the cores of the two Bowden cables are movable in directions toward one another.
