The invention relates to an optoelectronic module having at least one leadframe, at least one carrier element connected to the leadframe, and at least one optoelectronic component connected to the carrier element, which component can emit and/or receive light. The invention furthermore relates to a method for producing an optoelectronic module that includes providing at least one leadframe, at least one carrier element and at least one optoelectronic component, connecting the optoelectronic component to the carrier element and connecting the carrier element to the leadframe, and at least partly encapsulating the optoelectronic component, the carrier element and the leadframe with a plastic.

The invention relates to a method and a device for operating an optical transmitting device having a plurality of optical transmitters that can be driven independently. The method includes detecting the parameter values of the individual transmitters, comparing the parameter values determined with one another and/or with a prescribed comparison value, and selecting one of the transmitters for the communication operation of the transmitting device based on the comparison. The method further includes operating the transmitting device with the selected transmitter.

The invention relates to a receiver circuit having an optical receiving device, a plurality of amplifiers that are connected to the receiving device, and circuit means or a control circuit for individually activating and deactivating the individual amplifiers. In this case, the amplifiers each differ from one another in at least one parameter such as gain, and only one amplifier is activated at a given point in time, while the other amplifiers are deactivated. The invention makes it possible to match the receiver circuit to widely varying transmission rates.

The invention is directed to a laser diode assembly having a laser diode and a support, whereon the laser diode is arranged or formed in one single piece. The laser diode assembly further includes a coupling capacitor integral therewith, wherein the laser diode is subjected to the action of a laser driver circuit via the coupling capacitor associated with the assembly. The invention is also directed to a device for operating a laser diode, wherein the device includes a coupling capacitor integral with a laser diode assembly. The invention enables a reduction in the number of coupling paths between a laser driver circuit and a laser diode assembly, thereby reducing the occurrence of parasitic elements.

According to the invention, an optical transmission module includes a transmission element, and a driver which drives the transmission element. The driver uses a transmission signal that is applied to its driver input to produce a drive signal for the transmission element. The transmission module furthermore has a control device which drives the driver, and which furthermore, is programmable. A multiplexing device is connected between a signal input of the optical transmission module, the driver input of the driver and the control device, and can be used to switch an input signal, which is applied to the signal input of the transmission module, to the control device or to the driver.

A receiver circuit is disclosed which enables a reception signal fed into the receiver circuit by a reception element to be processed&#x2014;e.g. amplified&#x2014;with little to no errors. The receiver circuit has a cascode circuit on an input side, which cascode circuit generates an output signal from the reception signal of the reception element. Control means that act on the cascode circuit are connected to the cascode circuit. The control means are configured in such a way that they counteract an increase in a high level of the output signal of the cascode circuit on account of an excessively large input signal from the reception element.

An optical receiver circuit is constructed to be immune to interference from external interference signals. The optical receiver circuit includes a differential amplifier having an optical reception device connected to one input of the differential amplifier. The optical receiver circuit also includes an electrical element for simulating the electrical behavior of the reception device in the illumination-free state. The electrical element is connected to the other input of the differential amplifier.

The invention relates to an integrated circuit for controlling a laser diode, comprising a signal input for receiving a data signal; a signal output for connection to the laser diode; a modulator for modulation of the data signal; a current infeed connected to the signal output for the supply of a bias current; a coupling capacitor between the output of the modulator and the signal output in order to form a high pass with the differential resistor of the laser diode. Preferably, the circuit also comprises an active compensation circuit with a low pass connected to the output of the modulator; and a circuit which is connected to the low pass for producing a signal which is inversely proportional to the low pass output voltage and which is added to the output signal or subtracted from the output signal. The low pass can be controlled by a circuit guiding the data signal.

The invention relates to an optoelectronic arrangement having at least one optoelectronic emission component and a monitor component operatively coupled to the emission component to detect at least some radiation radiated by the emission component. A driver circuit of the arrangement is electrically connected to the emission component and the monitor component and a carrier substrate. In this case, the driver circuit is formed as a circuit integrated into the carrier substrate. The monitor component is likewise integrated into the carrier substrate and the emission component is formed as a separate structural part and is arranged on the carrier substrate.

Optoelectronic arrangement

The invention relates to an optical duplex connector which has two optical waveguides, a connector housing, in which the optical waveguides are arranged with a defined lateral spacing in relation to each other, and a triggering mechanism for locking and/or unlocking the optical connector with respect to a coupling partner. The triggering mechanism comprises at least one interacting part, which interacts with at least one corresponding part of the coupling partner for locking and/or unlocking. In this case, the at least one interacting part is arranged, with respect to the plugging direction, in the lateral region between the two optical waveguides or extends along this lateral region. This leads to a particularly compact connector structure.

The invention relates to an electrical circuit for a directly modulated semiconductor radiation source having a semiconductor radiation source, to which a modulated current is supplied in a manner dependent on a digital data signal, the falling signal edge of said current exhibiting peaking. According to the invention, provision is made of circuit means which are connected to an electrical contact point of the circuit and which reduce peaking of the falling signal edge when a predetermined value of the forward voltage across the semiconductor radiation source is undershot. This allows higher data rates to be achieved.

A receiver circuit having an optical reception device and having an amplifier connected to the reception device, the amplifier also having a circuit for setting the operating point of the amplifier and also at least one control terminal of the circuit, by which the operating point of the amplifier can be selectively changed between at least two values at the user end. The receiver circuit according to the invention enables a noise optimization of the amplifier by virtue of an adjustability of the operating point of the amplifier.

The invention provides an optoelectronic arrangement having a pluggable optoelectronic module and an electric plug arranged on a host printed circuit board. The optoelectronic module comprises at least one optoelectronic transducer, at least one electronic chip, and a module printed circuit board with a plurality of first electric contacts. The electric plug is electrically connected to the host printed circuit board and has a plurality of second electric contacts which, when the module is plugged in, are in electric contact with the first electric contacts of the module printed circuit board. Also provided are a displacement mechanism for linearly displacing the module into an end position with reference to the electric plug, and a contact mechanism for making contact and breaking contact between the first electric contacts and second electric contacts. It is possible in this case to activate the contact mechanism only when the module is in the end position. The present invention also relates to a very compact electric plug which is arranged on a host printed circuit board.
