A fluid supply pump such as a roller cell pump which includes a multiplicity of individual pumping bodies or rollers held in the grooves of a driven rotor in contact with an eccentrically disposed roller path which, in a certain angular range around the narrowest and widest gap, it is, at each location, virtually identical with a concentric circular path which is drawn around the rotor center point, the path preferably formed by two ellipse halves, for the elliptic shape can be virtually exactly approximated around the apex points of the ellipse by means of its primary circles of curvature to thereby improve the dynamic sequence of operations, for example to increase the sealing effect of the radial gap and to adapt the expansion and compression phases to the opening and closing conditions of the intake and pressure grooves.

A securing apparatus is proposed for electric fuel pumps intended for direct in-tank installation, which enables satisfactory removal of fuel vapor from the suction area of the pump, but prevents the transmission of vibration onto the fuel spinner fixedly mounted in the tank. This is accomplished in that the elastic properties of one or more rubber elements, directly connected in the form of sleeves to the pump, are maintained even with the effects of aging, since the rubber elements are primarily stressed only by shear or bending forces. The pump is inserted, with the mounted rubber element, into a corresponding device in the fuel spinner and, so far as this is necessary, secured with clamping elements. The rubber elements fulfill the functions of holding the pump, sealing the pump suction chamber from the tank, damping noise, and removing vapor in the tank.

Securing apparatus for electric fuel pumps

There is described a pump assembly which, in a unitary structure, comprises an electric pump drive motor and a two stage pump contained within a common housing. The motor drives the first stage of the pump upstream of the second stage which supplies the fuel, by creating a higher output from the first stage, which supply pressure is produced on the suction side of the second stage to maintain the pressure build-up in the pump. An air discharge is provided ahead of the inlet to the suction side of the second stage to dispell gases created in the fuel by the elevated pump pressures.

A fuel supply pump is proposed where the pumping system comprises two individual pumping stages connected in seriatim and are both driven by the motor armature of an electromotor located in a common housing, and further where the drive of the pumping stage adjacent to the electromotor is accomplished by means of a contactless coupling assembly including permanent magnets fixed in the hub areas of the rotating parts of the adjacently disposed pumping stages. In a further preferred embodiment of the invention the permanent magnets are operatively associated by being in radial alignment but not in contact with each other and are separated in a pressure-tight manner by means of a rigid flange-like element inside the housing of the fuel supply assembly.

Fuel supply pump

An electric motor-driven fluid pump, more particularly a fuel supply pump, simply and cost effectively constructed from only a few individual parts, preferably molded of a synthetic material, and preassembled as structural groups. The preferred embodiment comprises a pump of the lateral channel type having an impeller made integral with the motor armature; a tubular central housing portion which encloses the permanent magnets of the electric motor; and flange-like housing terminals on both sides of the central housing portion. The exteriors of the housing terminals are provided with pressure and suction nozzles and the interiors are provided with the stationary part of the pump and the commutator guides for the collector.

Fluid pump, particularly a fuel supply pump

A procedure and an apparatus are proposed for effectively degassing fuel supply pumps, where the fuel used contains components which vaporize easily at elevated fuel temperatures, and particularly for leading off gas bubbles as they are formed whenever these occur or form in the immediate area of the pump intake. The entire pump and especially the intake area of the pump, which is preferably a roller piston pump, are embodied in open design, with the fuel supply pump arranged perpendicularly and the pumping area located at the bottom, so that gas bubbles forming in the fuel can be carried off before they are introduced into the pump. The pump comprises a base plate with a telescoping rigid tubular member and an intermediate plate screwed onto the base plate, the intermediate plate having an eccentric boring, which encloses the groove disc of the thus-embodied roller piston pump. Further attached to this intermediate plate is a front cover which secures the entire pump area with respect to a housing surrounding the electromotor and has its interior contour so formed that the front cover can assume the functions of the pump. The base plate and the front cover which secure the pump are cut away in the area of the induction groove of the roller piston pump, so that the groove disc and rollers in this area are open. In this way it is possible to divert any gas bubbles which may be formed while they are still in the immediate intake area of the roller piston pump, so that the formation of large bubbles, which would hinder the induction of the liquid fuel, is prevented.

Procedure and apparatus for degassing fuel supply pump

A method for the ventilation of fuel supply pumps as well as a new type of fuel supply pump are proposed which, particularly in pumps having two pumping stages coupled in series within the housing, serve to secure the ventilation of the first pumping stage. Preferably the first pumping stage is embodied as a lateral channel pump which has a forward anterior base plate. The ventilation bore is arranged axially at first in the base plate and in association with the lateral channel and is preferably formed during manufacture in one piece with the base plate; a reduction of the overly-large diameter of the ventilation bore is effected by the insertion of a reduction part to achieve the flow cross section required for ventilation. The ventilation to the outside of the lateral channel stage takes place via an external connection nozzle on the pump housing, which is secured thereon either axially or radially and can be embodied in one piece therewith as necessary. The connection of the ventilation bore of the lateral channel having a reduced cross section with the housing connection nozzle can be made by an elastic medially disposed member.
