The invention concerns a method for producing metal strip () in an installation (), in which a metal strand, especially a thin slab, is brought to a desired temperature and/or is maintained at a desired temperature in a furnace () and is subjected to a rolling process in a rolling train () downstream of the furnace () in the direction of conveyance (R) of the metal strand (). In accordance with the invention, to prevent the formation of scale deposits in the downstream region of the furnace, provision is made for the metal strand () to be subjected to at least one descaling operation during its residence time in the region () of the furnace (). In addition, the invention concerns an installation for producing metal strip.

Method and apparatus for manufacturing metal strips

A method for producing thin slabs whereby the cross-section thereof is reduced during solidification in a continuous casting device wherein the strand guide adjacent to the mold includes wedge-shaped adjustable roller-strand sections for regulating the thickness of the strand or the thin slabs. The thickness of the strand is reduced only on one point of the strand guide below the first segment downstream from the mold in an area of the strand containing a liquid core by regulating the strand guide rollers with a soft transition. The segment following the segment situated directly after the mold comprises a pivoting point on the input side and an adjusting means arranged on the output side.

Method and device for producing thin slabs

The invention relates to a device for the continuous casting of metals, especially steel, for use in a solidified-bending method. Said device comprises, downstream of the continuous casting mold, a straight strand guide ( ) and a bending device ( ) that releases the cast strand path ( ) so that the cold strand ( ) can be introduced. Device for the continuous casting of metals, especially steel, for use in a solidified bending method

A tundish carriage for a double-strand continuous caster has a carriage frame displaceable on rails straddling a pair of parallel-wall or funnel-shaped continuous casting billet molds. The frame is of trapezoidal configuration with one relatively long beam and one relatively short beam connected by transverse beams at vertices provided with bolsters riding on the rails and with units for raising and lowering the trough for receiving the molten metal. The casting tubes extend downwardly from the trough and can be individually aligned with the respective molds without affecting the position of the other casting tube, utilizing an adjusting device at each bolster connecting a transverse beam with the longer of the longitudinal beams.
