A game includes a base unit, a target area, a launch area, and an electronic controller. The target area is attached to the base unit and has multiple target sections. The launch area is attached to the base and is configured for bouncing a playing piece into one of the multiple target sections. The electronic controller is configured to monitor the target sections and control game play. For two person play, the game may have two launch areas and the target area may be divided into two target regions.

The present invention is a computerized game device or game playing method for use with objects such as balls and a generally planar surface. The game device may comprise at least two electromagnetic beam transmitters arranged to emit electromagnetic beams and at least two corresponding electromagnetic beam receivers generating signals. The game device further comprises a support for the transmitters and receivers having a surface shaped to rest stably against the planar surface, the support positioning each transmitter to emit its electromagnetic beam parallel to the other beams and parallel to the planar surface, the support positioning each receiver to receive one of the electromagnetic beams, and the support shaped to permit the objects to pass through the beams and to strike the planar surface without striking the support. The game device further comprises a game computer arranged to receive signals from the receivers and programmed to implement at least one game where performance is judged by analysis of the signals received from the receivers.

An animated toy bowling game includes a plurality of pins, a base having a plurality of pin sockets therein, and a toy bowling ball. The pins have fanciful character faces that give the pins the appearance of live characters. Each of the pins is receivable in a respective pin socket for locating the pins in a specified pin arrangement. Each of the pin sockets includes a pin sensor for determining whether a pin is received therein and an actuator element engageable with the respective pin received therein to move, or wobble, the respective pin when the actuator element is moved into and out of engagement with the pin. The game further includes a drive device to effect movement of the actuator elements, and an audio unit operative for producing audible sounds. The sensors, drive device, and audio unit are coupled to a control unit operative for selectively controlling the drive device and the audio unit responsive to detection of the states of the pin sensors. During game play, the pins are wobbled to simulate apparent live movement of the pin characters and the game produces audible sounds including announcements of the player's score and taunting phrases.

A hand-held electronic game includes a housing shaped like a human body, a display mounted on the housing, an input device mounted within the housing, and a processor positioned in the housing. The processor is connected to the display and the input device. The processor is programmed to cause the display to display a body cavity, one or more hazardous cells in the body cavity, one or more anatomy parts in the body cavity, and a game piece in the body cavity. The game piece moves relative to the body cavity in response to signals from the input device, and, when positioned near an anatomy part, removes the anatomy part from the body cavity.
