A device for fixing a rod to an osseous structure. The device is configured to receive the rod with the main axis oriented in a first direction. The device includes a main body, a first fastening member directly connected to the main body and accessible from an outer surface of the main body for fastening the rod to the main body, and a second fastening member, also directly connected to the main body, offset with respect to the first fastening member in said first direction, and separately accessible from an outer surface of the main body for fastening to the main body. A flexible elongate member is provided to attach the main body to the osseous structure. The first and second fastening members are arranged so that the flexible elongate member can be fastened adjacent to the rod.

Fixing device

A spinal stabilization system including an insert positionable in the channel of the housing of a vertebral anchor, and an associated support construct including a spacer and at least one cord extending through the insert. In some instances the construct includes first and second cords extending through first and second bores of the insert. A clamping member clamps the cord(s) in the insert. In some instances the clamping member includes first and second tabs movable in channels in first and second flanges of the insert.

Dynamic stabilization system

A bone fixing system useful for holding bone in position, and a method for installing the same are disclosed. The ends of a conformable ligature are passed around bones, bone grafts, tendons, plates, rods, fasteners, or other anatomical or implanted structures, and the like to form a loop extending from a first portion of a body. The ends of the conformable ligature are passed through the body and extend out a second portion of the body. The ends may be attached to a tensioning tool and a selected tension may be applied. A closure member may engage an engagement portion of the body to create a friction force to hold the conformable ligature in place without significant movement relative to the body.

Bone fixing system and method of use

A vertebral fixing system suitable for being mounted on a vertebra of the spine for connecting it to a rod. The system includes: a connecting part suitable for being connected to the rod, a flexible ligature of elongate shape having two free ends suitable for connecting together the connecting part and at least a portion of a vertebra and/or a rib, and an adjustable locking member mounted on the connecting part. The connecting part defines at least one passageway for passing the ligature in such a manner that two distinct strands of the ligature can be engaged in the passageway so that the two strands of the ligature define a first ligature portion forming a loop extending from one side of the connecting part, and second and third ligature portions extending from the other side of the connecting part.

Vertebral fixing system

A bone anchoring device for securement to a bone. The device includes an anchor, a receiver, a retainer and an insert. The receiver includes a seating surface defining a cavity communicating with the exterior of the receiver through a first opening configured to receive the connection head of the anchor therethrough. The retainer includes at least two discrete retaining members configured to engage with the receiver seating surface when they are captured between the connection head and the seating surface. The insert is disposed within the receiver and configured to frictionally engage the connection head. The insert includes a main body and at least one pin protruding from the main body, for circumferential insertion between two adjacent retaining members of the retainer.

Bone anchoring device

A tensioning tool and method for tensioning a conformable ligature of a bone fixing system are disclosed. The ends of a conformable ligature can be passed around bones, bone grafts, tendons, plates, rods, fasteners, or other anatomical or implanted structures, and the like to form a loop. Another portion of the conformable ligature can be coupled to a tensioning tool. The tensioning tool can include a first portion and a second portion in threaded engagement with each other. Rotation of one portion relative to the other can cause tensioning of the conformable ligature through translation of a tensioning member.

Bone fixation tensioning tool and method

A fixing device to connect a bone to a linking member () is characterized in that it comprises; &#x2014;a connecting part () to be connected to said linking member (), having an outer face; &#x2014;a conformable elongate ligature () cooperating with said bone suitable for securing said connecting part to said bone; said ligature applying a portion of the outer surface of the connecting part against a portion of said bone; and&#x2014;adjustable locking means () fastened to said connecting part () to maintain said ligature in a state which allows a controlled relative mobility between said bone and said connecting part ().

Fixing devices and stabilization systems using said fixing devices

A vertebral fixing system comprising a connecting part with two longitudinal elements coupled to each other at a first end and having mutually facing recesses for receiving a rod. A portion of a flexible ligature extends through orifices of the two longitudinal elements to define a loop opposite two free ends of the flexible ligature. The two longitudinal elements are engaged at a second end of the connecting part via a locking means. When the two longitudinal elements of the connecting part are locked at the second end of the connecting part, two strands of the flexible ligature are pinched between the rod and a wall of the mutually facing recesses of the two longitudinal elements of the connecting part, preventing the flexible ligature from moving in translation relative to the connecting part.

This disclosure provides a spinal stabilization system and method for stabilizing at least two vertebrae. The system holds together the vertebrae while allowing a limited amount of relative movement between the vertebrae. The system may include a flexible braid having two free ends, at least one spacer interposed between the spinous processes of the vertebrae, and a securing mechanism for securing the two ends of the braid to hold the at least one spacer between the spinous processes of the vertebrae. In some embodiments, the securing mechanism may comprise parts movable relative to each other. Portions of the braid may be placed between the movable parts. A mechanical member may cause the movable parts to move towards each other to secure the two ends of the braid.

System for stabilizing at least two vertebrae

A surgical tool for tensioning a flexible member of a vertebral device, the flexible member having at least one end portion to which tension is applied. The surgical tool includes a longitudinal member having a longitudinal axis, a first end provided with an element for securing in rotation at least one end portion of the flexible member with the first end of the longitudinal member, and a second end provided with a handling element. The surgical tool also includes a guiding structure comprising a first end adapted to be applied against the body of the vertebral device, and at least one guiding element for guiding in rotation the longitudinal member about the longitudinal axis. The guiding structure maintains the longitudinal axis of the longitudinal member with respect to the body, whereby the rotation of the longitudinal member with the handling element produces the tensioning of the flexible member.
