A lock system for access authorization in a motor vehicle, having a first device which has at least two states and is embodied as a control device, and having an associated second device which is embodied in the manner of an electronic key, an ID signal transmitter, a chip card or the like. The two devices have transmitters and/or receivers for electromagnetic signals. At least one of the signals transmitted between the second device and the first device is an encoded operating signal for authenticating the second device, with the result that after a positive evaluation of the transmitted operating signal when the second device is authorized it is possible to bring about a change in the state of the first device.

Lock system and apparatus for a motor vehicle with secondary energy storage and transmission for emergency operation

An electric steering lock for a drive authorization system in a motor vehicle, including a movable locking element which, according to a first position, can be brought into locking engagement with a latched-in position on the steering shaft in the steering wheel column and, according to a second position, can be brought out of locking engagement with said position. The steering lock also has a drive for moving the locking element between the two positions, and electronics for controlling the drive. The system may have an associated second device in the form of an electronic key, an identification (ID) transmitter, a chip card or the like, with the result that, when the second device is authorized, the drive can be controlled into the respective position by the electronics. The electronics generate those signals which are used to trigger functions which can otherwise be effected by an electric ignition lock.

Electric steering lock, in particular for a motor vehicle

A locking system for providing authorization to access and drive a motor vehicle has a first control device for unlocking and locking the car doors, the ignition lock, the steering wheel lock, etc. Additionally, the locking system has a second device, which is an electronic key or an identifier. The two devices have transmission means and/or receiving means for electromagnetic signals with frequencies &#x3bd; lying in a frequency band between two cut-off frequencies &#x3bd;a, &#x3bd;b. At least one of the signals, transmitted between the devices, is a coded operating signal for authenticating the second device. The actual frequency &#x3bd;i with which the transmission means of the second device is operated is stored in a storage means of the first device.

Locking system, in particular for a motor vehicle

A system for automatic access or driving authorization for a motor vehicle includes a first device in the form of a control device having at least two states for engaging and disengaging vehicle door locks, an immobilizer, or the like. An associated second device is provided in the form of an electronic key, an ID transmitter, a chip card or the like. Both devices have means for transmitting or receiving signals, including a coded operating signal for authenticating the second device, so that a change in the state of the first device can be implemented when the second device is authorized. Before the second device is first activated, it is in a sleep state in which operation-independent function is not permitted and energy consumption is reduced. During a first operator-dependent authentication, the second device is changed over from the sleep state into a standby state in which an operation-independent function is at least partially made possible.

Locking system for a motor vehicle

The invention relates to an electrical switch, in particular for a motor vehicle. The switch has a housing in which a contact system is located. Electrical connections which are located on the housing lead to the contact system, of which electrical connections first electrical connections are used to apply a power voltage for a high power current, and second electrical connections are used to apply a signal voltage for a low signal current. Optionally and if required, one connection can carry the power current via the first electrical connections and/or the signal current via the second electrical connections. Electrical switches designed in such a way are particularly suitable for arrangement in a control panel for a motor vehicle.

An electronic key for actuating a lock, in particular for use in locking systems in automobiles, is described. The housing of the electronic key has the shape of a thin wedge, the narrow end of the wedge being designed for insertion into the lock. The parts active for the actuation of the lock are also accommodated here. Moreover, the housing has a receptacle for a key bit for a mechanical lock.

Locking system especially for automobiles

A bus system for sensor modules includes at least one bus for interconnecting the sensor modules and for carrying signals between the sensor modules. Switching control devices are provided, a first one being a bus master device for the at least one bus having bus logic control for controlling the transmission of signals over the at least one bus. A superordinate main bus is provided for connecting the switching control devices together and for transmitting signals between the switching control devices. The at least one bus is connected with the superordinate main bus by the bus master. Binary switching signals transmitted over the at least one bus are detected by the sensor modules, and/or processed by the sensor modules. The sensor modules contain integrated bus logic for converting the binary switching signals into bus signals and vice versa. The at least one bus has a single common data line to which the sensor modules are connected for serial data transmission. The at least one bus operates bidirectionally in transmitting and receiving directions during half-duplex operation. The single common data line is driven by the bus master device independently of the superordinate main bus. The bus logic control in the bus master device controls the timing of data transmission in both transmitting and receiving directions. The at least one bus also provides a supply voltage to the sensor modules.
