A method for producing a correlation between a first state of a piezoelectric component () comprising a piezoceramic element and a second state of the component comprises the following steps: a) a first group of components respectively in the first state is prepared (), b) at least one defined characteristic of each component of the first group is determined (), c) the piezoceramic element of the components of the first group is polarised, and a corresponding component of a second group in the second state is thus created from each component of the first group (), d) at least one defined characteristic of each component of the second group is determined (), and e) the correlation is produced by comparing the defined characteristics of each component of the first group with the defined characteristic of the corresponding component of the second group ().

Method for establishing a correlation between a first state of a piezoelectric component and a second state of the component and use of said correlation

A piezoactuator, includes at least one stacked piezoelement, with at least two electrode layers, arranged one over the other along a stacking direction of the piezoelement, at least one piezoelectric layer, arranged between two of the electrode layers and at least one pre-tensioning device, for introduction of force into a volume of the piezoelectric layer via at least one force introduction surface on the piezoelectric layer, which is arranged on at least one of the surface sections facing the pretensioning device. The force introduction surface is smaller than the surface section of the piezoelectric layer and the volume is a partial volume of the piezoelectric layer. The production of the piezoactuator is achieved by introduction of a force into the partial volume of the piezoelectric layer via the force introduction surface on the piezoelectric layer.

An additional contacting () for a piezoelectric component () is formed as a multilayer structure, wherein the piezoelectric component () is formed by a stack () of alternatingly arranged piezoelectric ceramic layers () and electrode layers (). The additional contacting () has a series of connecting elements () for connecting a metallization () of the electric component () to an electrical connecting element (). In order to minimize mechanical loads during dynamic operation of the piezoelectric component (), the additional contacting () is configured as an individual, structured component (), especially in the form of a structured foil. Said structured foil () advantageously has a current conduction path () which is common to the connecting elements () and a contacting zone formed in the area of static base plate (), wherein the additional contacting () is connected to the electrical connecting element in the area of said contacting zone.

Additional contacting for an electrical component and piezoelectric component in the form of a multilayer structure

The invention relates to a piezoactuator () comprising a piezoelectric body () and elements for pre-tensioning the piezoelectric body, consisting of a first () and a second () connecting element for transferring forces to the piezoelectric body (). The actuator is provided with an element () for transferring tensile/pressure forces between the connecting elements (), said element being at least partially located in a gap () in the form of a bore in the piezoelectric body (). According to the invention, the piezoactuator () is set to a defined working curve using the pre-tensioning elements (). The piezoelectric body () is preferably produced by the lamination of piezoelectric layers, into which a gap is drilled after lamination and the component is subsequently sintered.

A piezoelectric bending transducer includes a support body, a stack of piezo-ceramic layers, arranged thereon and flat electrodes arranged between the layers. On the side of the support body facing the stack, an adaptation layer is arranged with essentially the same coefficient of expansion as the piezo-ceramic. A piezoelectric component in the form an actuator having a monolithic multi-layer stack is disclosed. For manufacture, only the surface of the stack via which an electrical contacting of the electrode layers ensues is ground after the sintering of a stack composed of piezo ceramic layers and electrode layers arranged on top of one another.

Piezoelectric component and method for the manufacture thereof

A monolithic piezoelectric actuator is made of a stoichiometric PZT ceramic (,) with low A-site doping, and electrode layers (,) containing silver and palladium. It exhibits an improved mechanical strength with good piezoelectric properties. The production process leads to optimum grain sizes and optimum piezoelectric properties irrespective of any B-site doping in the ceramic. In a method for producing a PZT piezoceramic, an intermediate compound is formed having the formula Zr.sub.x Ti.sub.1-x (O.sub.2 (ZTO) in a hydrothermal process. A ceramic having a desired zirconium/titanium ratio can be produced from two such ZTO powders having respectively different x-values. These powders are blended with lead oxide, and if desired with dopants, and are converted into a PZT powder by calcining. The calcined PZT powder is then sintered to form a high-density PZT ceramic which can be aligned precisely at the morphotropic phase boundary.

Method for producing a piezoceramic

A composite ultrasound transducer (array) contains piezoelectric ceramic transducer elements which radiate substantially in the longitudinal direction, and are embedded in a polymer matrix. The transducer elements have such a geometrical structure, and are arranged relative to each other, so that the development of oscillation modes perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the transducer elements is suppressed. A method for manufacturing the composite ultrasound transducer includes the steps of filling a plastic form, having a 'negative' of the desired shape of the transducer elements, with ceramic slurry, and pyrolyzing the plastic form after the slurry dries therein. The resulting voids between the hardened ceramic elements are filled with polymer to create the overall composite transducer. The transducer elements can thus be given an arbitrary shape and arrangement, such as hexagonal or irregular square structures, having a trapezoidal cross-section in planes parallel to the longitudinal axis of the transducer elements.
