A device produces an arming criterion for a fuze for a partly spinning munition. The munition has a first part which spins and a second part without or with little spin during flight of the munition. The device includes a sensor for outputting a characteristic variable for a relative rotation between the first part and the second part and a control unit for producing the arming criterion when the characteristic variable fulfils a flying criterion. The fuze for the partly spinning munition, which has at least one arming criterion, includes the device for providing the arming criterion or one of the arming criteria. The partly spinning munition includes the fuze with the device.

Device for producing an arming criterion, fuze and munition

A safety device for a fuze of a projectile that includes a detonating device for detonating the fuze. The safety device has a safety unit with a processor for safeguarding a detonation process of the detonating device. The safety unit contains a sensor unit configured to output a disengagement signal at a predetermined acceleration state. The processor is set up to output a control signal to release the safety unit in accordance with the presence of the disengagement signal. A low-acceleration state of the flight of the projectile can thus be detected and used as release parameter.

Safety device for a fuze of a projectile

A safety and arming unit for a fuse includes a firing chain having first and second firing devices defining an intermediate space therebetween and a barrier blocking the intermediate space in a safe position. The firing chain is brought into an armed position by a releasing movement vacating the intermediate space. First and second mutually independent securing devices lock the barrier in the safe position and execute an unlocking action based on two mutually independent physical arming parameters. A compact and very reliable safety and arming unit can be achieved in this way.

A penetration-capable projectile has a casing and a fuze with a fuze housing lower part. An interface area between the casing of the projectile and the fuze housing lower part is formed with a shape and/or strength modification which prevents the fuze housing lower part from being pushed into the casing on impact with a target that is to be penetrated.

A spin-stabilized correctible-trajectory artillery shell has a generator in the rotation-decoupled engagement region between a canard guidance unit and its munition body. The generator can be switched over to avoid load fluctuations between an adjusting motor and a substitute load. In order to avoid an additional heat source in the interior of the guidance unit the substitute load is in the form of an electrical resistance on, at or in canard surfaces behind the afflux flow edges. The canard surfaces are preferably formed on anti-spin canards which are not adjustably mounted.

In order to move a textile braking element () which is in the form of an annular disk and which is deployed radially under the effect of centrifugal force rapidly into a contour which is stable in respect of shape and which is always properly defined even under afflux flow conditions, a cloth () which is cut in the form of a circular ring is provided by virtue of radially extending tucks or darts, with a reduced outside periphery () in such a way that the opening movement is thereby limited to the shape of a flat obtuse-angled hollow truncated cone which, by means of reinforcing bands () which are sewn on along generatrices of the frustoconical surface, is pivotably mounted to the holding ring () at the inside periphery () while along the outside periphery (), it is provided with a peripherally extending accumulation of mass () for increasing the centrifugal deployment forces; wherein in the front end region of the stowage space (), the ring () is axially fitted into the contour of the fuse (), in such a way as to temporarily slip relative to the projectile spin.

Braking device for a trajectory-correctable spin-stabilized artillery projectile

A spin-stabilised artillery projectile ( ) can be easily subsequently fitted with an axially symmetrical aerodynamic braking device for reducing the ballistic trajectory if the tip ( ) which is equipped with the fuse ( ) and which is easily removable from the projectile body ( ) is equipped at approximately half its height with flap-shaped sectors ( ) which are pivotably mounted in such a way that they can be pivotably extended and which in their launch position fit snugly into the conical peripheral surface of the tip ( ) and in the operative position are pivotably extended to form a radial ring which is closed or which has gaps.

In order to perceptibly reduce the inevitable trajectory scatter or spread of ballistically fired projectiles in the target area without the technological expenditure involved in automatic target-seeking control, and in order thereby substantially to improve the level of target hit accuracy, the minimum trajectory path is laid through the previously ascertained target position, having regard to the error budget of the weapon and the external influencing parameters to be expected so that all real trajectories up to the maximum trajectory of that overall error budget are behind the target position. The descent of the projectile into the target area is then shortened from the real trajectory to the minimum trajectory, that is to say towards the target position. For that purpose, attainment of the optimum initialisation point, which is dependent on the theoretical remaining flight time, for the aerodynamic braking device on the projectile is determined on the real trajectory by a procedure whereby the real trajectory is continuously measured by means of satellite navigation, and the approach to the point of intersection with the triggering curve, that is to say the sequence of optimum initialisation points for the array of real trajectories, is established in dependence on interference, from which a transitional trajectory is adjusted to match the minimum trajectory through the target position.
