A floor mat is provided, including a mat body having an upper surface, and a heel pad disposed on the upper surface with a heel pad upper surface and an underside from which depend a plurality of isolated support members projecting generally perpendicularly from the underside such that the heel pad provides compressive strength and enhanced flexibility.

A plastic injection molded part is provided, including a first portion having a front surface and a rear surface, the front surface including border formations defining a space, and having at least one bleed hole in communication with said rear surface; and a second portion disposed within the space defined by the border formations and including areas filling the at least one bleed hole, such that when the part is formed, molten plastic forming the second portion enters the space through at least one bleed hole.

An injection molded carpet mat includes a flexible base having an upper surface defining a carpet recess, and an opposite lower surface. A carpet sheet is secured in the carpet recess by being integrally formed with the base, and having a napped top surface, a bottom surface and a peripheral edge. The lower base surface having a plurality of spaced ribs supporting the carpet bottom surface adjacent the peripheral edge and defining a track on the lower base surface corresponding to the peripheral edge of the carpet sheet.

A method for producing a carpet mat by injection molding, includes providing an injection mold including a cavity and a complementary core, each defining a portion of a mold recess for accommodating the finished carpet mat, providing the cavity with a surface having at least one vacuum opening bordered by a peripheral retaining barrier, applying vacuum to the core, inserting a sheet of carpet into the recess of the cavity and against the surface so that the carpet is in contact with the cavity, so that the carpet is held in the recess by the vacuum. Next, the cavity and core are closed together, thus sealing the recess, and a flowable supply of plastic is injected into the recess. Finally, the mold is opened after a specified period, allowing the plastic to at least partially solidify.

A locking automobile mat hanger and display device consists of two hanger housings that cooperate with an interchangeable adapter insert to secure a plurality of automobile floor mats. The device includes housings having a retaining portion and an adapter insert, whereby the adapter insert and the retaining portion of the housing create channels in which automobile floor mats may be inserted and retained. The device also has a cutout section in the housings whereby a user may easily grasp and carry the entire mat hanger assembly. The device further contains a hook section disposed on the housings, which allows for the entire mat hanger assembly to be hung from retail displays, and also allows for efficient storage. The label application section of the hanger aids inventory organization.
