In the method according to the invention for separating mercury from waste gases of a cement production process, the mercury is sorbed on a sorbent, the sorbent is subsequently discharged from the process and supplied to a discharge reactor which is operated with a carrier gas. The sorbent is heated there to temperatures of more than 250&#xb0; C. so that the mercury is discharged from the sorbent and changed into the gas phase, the gas of the discharge reactor that has accumulated mercury subsequently having the dust removed from it in a preliminary dust removal device, and only a part-flow of the gas which has been enriched and had the dust removed from it in this manner being drawn off at high temperatures and cleaned in a subsequent sorption stage, whilst the remaining part-flow is brought to the temperature required for the discharge of the mercury in the discharge reactor in a heat transfer system and is again supplied as a carrier gas to the discharge reactor.

Method and system for separating mercury from waste gases of a cement production process

The invention relates to a vertical mill comprising a grinding track () and at least one grinding roller (). The grinding track () is provided with a central zone (Ia) made of a harder material and two laterally adjacent edge zones (Ib, Ic) made of a softer material. The invention relates to a device and method for drying and deagglomerating moist feed material, whereby the feed material is kneaded, mixed and broken up by the action of at least one roller rolling on a driven plate and is dried by means of hot gas supplied thereto. The reciprocating grate according to the invention for the treatment of bulk material, particularly for cooling hot material by means of gases, comprises a plurality of rows of grate plates disposed behind one another in the longitudinal direction of the grate, of which at least some are moveable to and fro relative to the others, wherein the grate plates of rows of adjacent grate plates overlap each other somewhat like scales. The heat treatment of fine-grained material wherein two quantities of fuel are delivered to a precalcination zone at two different levels. The first quantity of fuel is delivered at a lower level nearer the combustion zone and the oxygen content of the gases passing through this region of the precalcination zone are such that in this region a substoichiometric combustion takes place and a CO content between 0.05% and 1% is established. As a result a reducing decomposition of the NO.sub.x content of the exhaust gases from the combustion zone takes place.

Method and apparatus for the heat treatment of fine-grained material

The invention relates to a multiple-stage heat exchanger 1 in which at least one of the lower heat exchange stages contains a deflector/separator with a horizontal gas inlet pipe and a gas outlet, and at least the upper heat exchange stage has a conventional cyclone. This results in a considerable reduction in the energy requirement, the size and height of the construction.
