The invention relates to a machine () for machining pipe ends. At least one centering device () is associated to said machine, which centering device centers a tubular workpiece (') in relation to an axis of rotation (D) of the machine for machining pipe ends extending in the center of the machine, the tubular workpiece either being stationary in the case of a rotating tool head () or rotating in the case in which the tubular workpiece is fastened in the machine chuck (). Precise centering of the tubular workpiece (&#x2032;) is quickly and simply achieved in that the centering device () has a clamping housing () that is open toward the axis of rotation (D), which clamping housing is designed comprising at least three means () for contacting the tubular workpiece at the outer circumference and for clamping the tubular workpiece (&#x2032;) in a centered manner, which means are circumferentially distributed and adjust mechanically independently of each other to the particular diameter of the workpiece (&#x2032;) to be machined.

Machine for machining pipe ends, having a centering device for centering a tubular workpiece in relation to an axis of rotation

The invention relates to a chuck () for a machine tool for machining a tubular workpiece () which rotates about a rotational axis that coincides with the center of the chuck, comprising at least two chucking slides () that are designed to be positionable radially with respect to the rotational axis in order to release and chuck the workpiece, are arranged on the end side of and in a manner distributed uniformly around the circumference of a chuck head plate, and bear chucking jaws (). Such a chuck is intended to be created with improved operating characteristics and extension to all chucking functions. To this end, for the external central chucking of a tube (), there are provided centring slides () which can be disengaged from the chuck head plate with a forward inclination towards the end of the tube to be machined and center the tube by means of chucking claws () which are arranged at the front, free end of centring slide rods (), said centring slides () engaging via a toothed rod section () into a toothing () of a drive means assigned to each centring slide, and meshing for their part, on a toothing side () parallel to the side with the toothing, with a central toothed wheel () arranged concentrically with the rotational axis, wherein the central toothed wheel () synchronizes the movements of all the centring slides ().

Chuck for apparatus for machining a tubular rotating workpiece

The invention relates to a transport device () for workpieces () which have a longitudinal axis (L), in particular for pipes or for round stock, by way of which transport device () the workpieces () can be conveyed from a first location () to a second location () in a conveying direction (F) transversely with respect to their longitudinal axis (L), wherein the transport device () has: at least two stationary storage carriers () which are arranged spaced apart in the conveying direction (F) for the intermediate storage of the workpieces () to be conveyed, at least one first conveying rack () with a number of storage surfaces () which are spaced apart in a conveying direction (F) for the workpieces (), at least two drive shafts () which are arranged parallel to one another and are driven synchronously, and at least two first rocker arms (), wherein each first rocker arm () is connected fixedly to a drive shaft () so as to rotate with it and in an articulated manner to the first conveying rack (). In order to achieve a shortened transport time and therefore higher productivity of the system, the proposed transport device is characterized by at least one second conveying rack () having at least one storage surface () for the workpieces (), wherein the second conveying rack () is connected via two second rocker arms () to the drive shafts (), wherein each second rocker arm () is connected fixedly to a drive shaft () so as to rotate with it and in an articulated manner to the second conveying rack (), and wherein the second rocker arms () are arranged on the respective drive shaft () with an offset angle (a) in the circumferential direction relative to the first rocker arms ().

Conveyor for elongated workpieces

A thread cutter for pipe ends has a tool head rotating coaxially with respect to a fixedly clamped pipe end and provided at tool holders in the form of radial sliders. Actuators which are parallel to the rotation axis are mounted on a frame shiftable with respect to the head for synchronously radially displacing the sliders and gears mesh with racks of neighboring sliders. The gears are formed with an integrated centrifugal force balancing system.
