Press body for use in extended nip presses for paper making

The invention relates to a method of making tissue paper in a machine for making tissue paper and in which method a fibrous web is passed through at least one press nip together with a texturing belt. The texturing belt has a side that faces the fibrous web in the press nip and the surface of that side is a web contacting surface that is textured. The texturing belt can be selected such that the tissue paper that is manufactured obtains desired values for one or several parameters. The invention also relates to a machine for making tissue paper. The machine comprises a forming section, a drying cylinder, a press having a first press unit and a second press unit between which press units a nip is formed. The second press unit is preferably a shoe roll. The machine also comprises a drying cylinder which is arranged to be heated from the inside by hot steam and on which a fibrous web can be dried by heat. A texturing belt is arranged to run in a loop through the nip and to the drying cylinder such that a fibrous web can be carried by the texturing belt to the drying cylinder and transferred to the drying cylinder. The side of the texturing belt that contacts the fibrous web comprises a layer of a polymer material such that the polymer material will contact the fibrous web and cavities are formed in that surface of the texturing belt that comes into contact with the fibrous web.

Method and a machine for of making tissue paper

A tissue machine () has a Yankee () and a shoe roll () that forms a nip with the Yankee (). The nip has a maximum extension from an entry point () to an exit point (). A flexible belt () forms an outer circumference of the roll (). A fabric () carries a fibrous web (W) to the nip and passes through the nip with the web. The fabric () reaches the circumference of the roll () at a first contact point () and wraps the roll () from the first contact point to the nip. A mechanical support () inside the belt () supports the belt () between the first contact point () and the nip. The fabric () wraps the roll () from the first contact point () by more than 80&#xb0;. A method of making tissue paper is provided, in which a fibrous web is formed in a forming section and transferred to a Yankee drying cylinder in a non-dewatering transfer nip formed between the Yankee drying cylinder and a shoe roll. The shoe roll has a shoe that is deformable such that it can adapt to a cylindrical outer surface of the Yankee drying cylinder, and a rotatable flexible jacket arranged to run in a loop around the shoe. A structured carrier fabric runs around the shoe roll and has land areas and void areas facing the fibrous web. The length of the transfer nip is in the range of 30 mm -100 mm and the linear load in the transfer nip is in the range of 35 kN/m-120 kN/m. The peak pressure in the transfer nip lies in the range 2 MPa-8 MPa.

Method for making tissue paper

The invention relates to a method of making a structured fibrous web (W). The method comprises forming a fibrous web (W) and conveying the formed fibrous web on a water receiving felt () to a dewatering nip (PN) formed by a first press unit () and a second press unit () and where an endless belt () is passed through the nip together with the fibrous web(W) and the water receiving felt (), The endless belt has a side which is covered by a polymer and which contacts the fibrous web (W) in the dewatering nip (PN). After the dewatering nip, the web (W) is transferred with a speed difference to an endless structured clothing () which is permeable to air and has protruding knuckles () on the side that contacts the fibrous web (W) and which protruding knuckles () give the structured clothing () a topographic surfacearea which, for a given length of the structured clothing () in the machine direction and a given width of the structured clothing in the cross machine direction, exceeds the plain surface area of a part of the endless belt () having an equal length and width. The structured clothing is operated at a speed which is so much lower than the speed of the endless belt () that the relative difference in speed between the endless belt () and the structured () fabriccorresponds to the relative difference in surface area between the endless belt () and the structured clothing. In this way, the fibers of the fibrous web (W) will be evenly distributed on the structured clothing (). The invention also relates to a creped fibrous web (W) having a basis weight in the range of 14 g/m-40 g/m, and having a three-dimensional structure formed by depressed regions () and elevated regions (). The fibers of the fibrous web (W) are 20 evenly distributed over the surface of the creped fibrous web (W).

Method of making a structured fibrous web and a creped fibrous web

The invention relates to a forming section () for forming a fibrous web (W). The forming section () comprises a first forming fabric () arranged to run in a loop supported by guide elements () and a second forming fabric () arranged to run in a loop supported by guide elements (). The second forming fabric () is arranged so inrelation to the first forming fabric () that the two forming fabrics () converge towards each other to form an inlet gap () into which stock can be injected. A forming roll () is arranged within the loop of the second forming fabric () to guide the second forming fabric () into the inlet gap () and to guide the first and the second forming fabric () along a part of their path which is common to both the first and the secondforming fabric () and which begins at the inlet gap. The forming roll () comprises a flexible tubular jacket () which is arranged to run in a loop around an axis of rotation (A) that extends in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which the first and second forming fabric () are arranged to run and the forming roll further () comprises a support ledge () located inside the loop of the flexible tubular jacket ()and extending in a direction parallel to the axis of rotation (A) of the flexible tubular jacket (). The support ledge () can press the flexible tubular jacket () in a direction outwards away from the axis of rotation (A) such that, in the area in which the flexible tubular jacket () is pressed outwards by the support ledge (), the flexible tubular jacket () is caused to follow a path with a radius of curvature which is smaller than theradius of curvature of the flexible tubular jacket () outside this area. The invention also relates to a method of forming a fibrous web.

The invention relates to an extended nip roll () capable of forming a press nip (N) with a counter roll () which press nip (N) has an extension in a machine direction when the extended nip roll () cooperates with the counter roll (). The extended nip roll () comprises a flexible jacket; an elastic press body () arranged inside the flexible jacket. The top side () of the press body () is beveled in such a way that, in the machine direction, a working surface () of the top side has a downstream end () which, in the machine direction, is followed by an exit side surface () that diverges from the interior surface () of the flexible jacket (). The press body () further has at least a first and a second internal pressure chamber (). The pressure chambers () can be pressurized such that the press body () expands. The working surface () and the exit side surface () are made of a material that has a higher shore A hardness than the material in the rest of the press body (). The present invention relates to a press device () that comprises an extended nip roll () and a counter roll (). The extended nip roll () has a flexible jacket () and a support body () inside the flexible jacket (). The extended nip () roll also has internal means for causing the support body () to move or expand radially towards an inner surface () of the flexible jacket () to form a nip with the counter roll. The rolls () have axial ends () that are supported in bearing housings (). One or several actuators () such as hydraulic cylinders connects bearing housings () to each other and the actuator or actuators () are arranged to act on the bearing housings () to cause them to move to each other in a closing movement. A mechanical stop () which is separate from the rolls () is arranged to halt the closing movement.
