Strip scale technology

A life vest for water sports is taught which is translucent to ultraviolet radiation and visible light. This allows the wearer to achieve uniform tan without having the harsh tan lines where the edges of a life vest would normally be. This allows an individual to enjoy both safety and tanning without having to make a choice between the two.

Light selective sport garments

A digital turn plate apparatus for aligning steering systems of wheeled devices. The turn plate apparatus has a rotational degree of motion for determining the angle of wheel alignment. The turn plate apparatus also has lateral and longitudinal degrees of motion to accommodate the lateral and longitudinal motion of the bottom of tires which can occur during turning or when the suspension is compressed. The turn plate apparatus generally includes a base, a top plate, a handle plate, a lower middle plate, a potentiometer, and a digital display mechanism. The top plate is rotatably mounted to the handle plate and is functionally engaged with the potentiometer. The turn plate apparatus digitally displays the rotational position of the top plate to within a tenth of a degree. The handle plate is constructed to have a longitudinal degree of motion with respect to the base and the lower middle plate is constructed to have a lateral degree of motion with respect to the base.

Digital turn plate apparatus

A stairway step assembly for use as an aid in climbing a stairway. The assembly is particularly useful to elderly and handicapped users who have difficulty climbing a standard stairway due to the height or rise of the steps thereof. The assembly provides a means of quickly, economically, and safely altering the step arrangement of the standard stairway with minimal or no modification to the permanent structure of the stairway. The assembly comprises a plurality of step members having predetermined horizontal dimensions and a predetermined height which is approximately one-half the height or rise distance of a standard step. The assembly further comprises an attachments mechanism for connecting the step members in place on the top or horizontal section of standard steps.

The invention provides a sealed package system for housing at least one medical electrode apparatus and for enabling the periodic testing thereof, comprising a thin, generally flat flexible envelope constructed and arranged to form an interior cavity for enclosing a conductive gel contact surface of an electrode apparatus, the envelope having at least one continuous layer of a homogeneous, non-conductive, polymeric material, the envelope further having first and second sides; and a structure for conducting current across the envelope to the interior cavity, the conductive structure being electrically connectible to the electrode conductive contact surface.

Digital turn plate

A portable automated external defibrillator (AED) configured for use with a packaged pair of defibrillator electrodes of the type electrically coupled to one another within the package and having lead wires extending from the package and an electrical connector on the ends of the lead wires. The AED includes a case with an electrode compartment configured to hold the packaged electrodes, and an openable lid for enclosing the compartment. Electrode terminals configured for electrical interconnection to the electrical connector of the electrodes, a speaker and an LED display are positioned within the electrode compartment. An operator-actuated rescue switch and a rescue LED display are positioned on the outside of the case. A high voltage circuit generates defibrillation pulses and applies the pulses to the electrode terminals. The operation of the AED is controlled by a digital control system. Rescue mode operation of the AED is initiated when the lid is opened. The digital control system then generates voice prompts and/or visual displays informing the operator: 1) when the electrodes are not properly connected to the electrode terminals, 2) when to place the electrodes on the patient, 3) when the electrodes are not properly positioned on the patient, 4) when the patient's cardiac rhythm is being analyzed, 5) when an nonshockable rhythm is identified, 6) when the high voltage circuit is being charged, and 7) when a shockable rhythm is identified and the rescue switch can be actuated.

Automated external defibrillator operator interface

A paint formulation is disclosed which will paint snow without harming either animal or plant life. The paint may be pre-formulated in a powdered form as is prepared for use by merely adding water. A process of allowing one to paint or draw on snow whereby a coloring agent, such as food coloring, is mixed with a gelling agent, such as household gelatin, and applied with a spray or squirt gun. When the gel solution contacts the cold snow, the gel solution quickly sets up and is prevented from dissipating as snow undergoes partial melting. When snow melts, the gel liquefies and disappears with runoff water.
