A method for detecting analytes in a liquid is provided in which the liquid is subjected to a mixing treatment on an area of a support which has in particular immobilized reactants, wherein in the mixing treatment the liquid is impinged upon by a stream of gas that sweeps across at least some areas of the support surface in a scanning manner by means of a jet directed towards the support surface. The invention also concerns a method for mixing a liquid sample comprising an analyte and a device for carrying out the method.

The invention relates to a reagent cartridge for receiving containers. These each contain particle-charged reagents and particle-free reagents. The container receiving the particle-charged reagent is received so as to be able to rotate. The reagent cartridge comprises interconnectable cartridge parts which form containers and which, in the interconnected state, ensure that the container receiving the particle-charged reagent is mounted so as to be able to rotate.

Process and device for generating a current of humid air having a defined relative humidity comprising the steps of generating a current of air in a tubing arrangement, generating hot water vapor, introducing the water vapor into the air current to generate flowing hot humid air, passing the hot humid air through a water separator while lowering the temperature of the humid air below the dew point temperature to generate saturated humid air having a defined temperature, heating the humid air coming from the water separator above the defined temperature to achieve a defined relative humidity, and discharging the humid air from the tubing arrangement as a current of humid air having a relative humidity of not less than 80%.

The invention relates to a system for mixing a liquid with another liquid or a solid material by blowing a gas onto the surface of the liquid. The invention further relates to a system for implementing said method. Gas is blown onto the surface of the liquid from a distance which can be adjusted by determining the level of the liquid. A system of the invention, hence, comprises a device for blowing a gas onto the surface of a liquid and a device for detecting the level of a liquid.

Liquid transfer device for an analysis unit with a capacitive liquid level detector (10) for detecting the dipping of a liquid transfer needle (5) into an analysis liquid (4). More reliable operation, in particular a better ratio between useful signal and noise signals, is achieved by the fact that the liquid transfer needle (5) is part of a coaxial electrode arrangement (11). The coaxial electrode arrangement includes, in addition to the liquid transfer needle (5), at least one coaxial electrode (12, 13) surrounding the needle and insulating from it and a detection circuit (17). This detection circuit detects a change in capacitance between the electrodes (5, 13) of the liquid level detector (10), and includes an isolation amplifier circuit (23) to whose input (23a) and output (23b) two adjacent electrodes (5, 12) of the coaxial electrode arrangement (11) are connected as signal electrode and compensating electrode. As a result of this structure, no voltage difference occurs between the signal electrode and the compensating electrode.
