A sliding-hearing composite material includes a steel supporting layer (), an intermediate layer () based on an aluminum alloy that is free of lead, and a bearing metal layer () based on an aluminum alloy that is free of lead, wherein the aluminum alloy of the intermediate layer () has a composition having 3.5 to 4.5 wt % copper, 0.1 to 1.5 wt % manganese, 0.1 to 1.5 wt % magnesium, and the usual admissible impurities, the remainder being aluminum, and wherein the aluminum alloy of the bearing mental layer () has a composition having wt % tin, 1.0-3.0 wt % nickel, 0.5-1.0 wt % manganese, 0.5-1.0 wt % copper, 0.15-0.25 wt % chromium, 0.1-0.3 wt % vanadium, and the usual admissible impurities, the remainder being aluminum. A sliding bearing element and the use of the sliding-bearing composite material for sliding bearing element, particularly sliding bearing shells, sliding bearing bushes, or thrust washers is also disclosed.

Composite material for a sliding bearing comprising an aluminum bearing metal layer

The invention relates to a sliding bearing composite comprising a carrier layer made of steel, an intermediate layer arranged on the carrier layer and made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy that is lead-free except for impurities, and a bearing metal layer arranged on the intermediate layer and made of an aluminum alloy that is lead-free except for impurities. Said aluminum alloy contains 6.0-10.0 wt. % tin, 2.0-4.0 wt. % silicon, 0.7-1.2 wt. % copper, 0.15-0.25 wt. % chromium, 0.02-0.20 wt. % titanium, 0.1-0.3 wt. % vanadium and optionally less than 0.5 wt. % other elements, the remaining portion being aluminum.

Sliding bearing comprising an aluminium bearing metal layer

The invention relates to a sliding bearing element comprising a supporting layer, an aluminum alloy-based intermediate layer, and an aluminum alloy-based bearing metal layer. The aluminum alloy composition of the intermediate layer includes at least the following components in percent by weight: 3.5 to 4.5 of copper; 0.1 to 1.5% of manganese; 0.1 to 1.5% of magnesium; and 0.1 to 1.0% of silicon.

Method for manufacturing structural components from an extruded section

A process for producing sintered parts with high wear resistance and good dynamic strength properties from formed bodies, which have been pressed as green parts from a completely-alloyed air-hardened heat-treatment steel powder with a carbon content of at least 0.3% added in the form of graphite. The process includes sintering the parts under protective gas at a sintering temperature of at least 1000.degree. C. and subsequent cooling. The sintered parts are cooled immediately after sintering from the sintering temperature to a first holding temperature in the range of Ar.sub.3 to a maximum of 150.degree. C. above Ar.sub.3 and are held for a first holding period of 5 to 25 minutes at this temperature (austenitizing phase). Immediately after this, the sintered parts are cooled in accelerated fashion to a second holding temperature by convective gas cooling and are held at this temperature for a second holding period. The second holding temperature lies in a temperature range in which a bainitic structure forms and is of such a length that a bainitic structure portion of at least 50% is established. The sintered parts are then cooled to room temperature.
