In an arrangement for supplying an internal combustion engine with fuel and a method for servicing and repairing the arrangement wherein a number of components, that is, a fuel reservoir, a fuel pumping unit, a fuel filter, a fuel level sensor and line elements are arranged in a fuel container and the container has an access opening formed in a wall thereof and sealingly closed by a cover, at least the fuel reservoir and at least one of the line elements are firmly installed in the fuel container and for servicing or replacement only the other components are removed through the access opening after being disconnected from their support mounts and associated connecting lines.

In a fuel tank with a filler neck of plastic material which filler neck is connected at one end to the fuel tank and has a filler opening at its other end, a vent pipe extending from the tank to the filler opening, an adsorber chamber with a chamber opening and a fuel vapor conduit providing for communication of the tank with the adsorber chamber are all integrally formed with the filler neck in a single blow molding step, the adsorber chamber, after being filled with a bag of activated carbon, being closed by a lid which carries a regeneration valve and covers the chamber opening.

In a turbocharger arrangement for an internal combustion engine including an exhaust gas turbine with an exhaust gas pressure control valve (waste gate) and an operating motor for opening or closing the waste gate, wherein a charger is coupled to the turbine and has a suction side and a discharge side in communication with the engine for supplying charge air thereto and wherein a system control valve is provided which is in communication with the suction side and with the pressure side of the charger and also with the waste gate operating motor for supplying suction air pressure or discharge air pressure to the waste gate operating motor, the system control valve includes means for placing the suction air side of the charger in communication with the charger air discharge side for returning charger discharge air to the suction side of the charger.

Turbo charger arrangement for an internal combustion engine

A closure for a fuel tank filler neck has a closure cap which is swivel-mounted on the upper side of the said closure and can be opened from the closed position by the effect of force on a lever arm arranged on the far side of the swivel axis. A pawl for locking and unlocking of the closure cap is swivellable and prestressed in the closing sense or direction by spring force and has an outwardly extending lever arm for mechanically lifting the pawl against the spring force. To ensure a permanent and reliable closing function of the closure cap, the filler neck bears an axially accessible adjusting ring which is arranged coaxially with respect to the cap. The ring is mounted rotatably on the outer circumference of the latter and/or on the axial end face of a shoulder thereof, and has on its upper side, at least in a subregion, a spiral toothing. A toothed segment is arranged on the lever arm of the closure cap. The teeth of the toothed segment are in engagement with the spiral toothing of the ring such that a turning of the adjusting ring has the effect that a force acting in the opening or closing sense can be exerted on the closure cap.

Fuel tank filler neck closure

In an exhaust system for an internal combustion engine having a main exhaust conduit with a catalytic converter arranged remote from the engine and a bypass exhaust conduit which includes a start-up catalytic converter arranged close to the engine and joins the main exhaust gas conduit ahead of said remote catalytic converter, an ejector structure is arranged in the main exhaust gas conduit within a housing defining a suction chamber in communication with the bypass exhaust conduit for drawing gas through the bypass exhaust conduit into said main exhaust gas conduit whenever exhaust gas flows from the engine through the main exhaust gas conduit and a main exhaust conduit valve is arranged between the ejector structure and the junction of the main and the bypass exhaust conduits which is closed during start-up operation of the engine to thereby force the exhaust gas to flow through the suction chamber and the bypass exhaust gas conduit via the start-up catalytic converter.
