An antenna mounting system that includes abase member, a plurality of spaced retaining attachment section and retaining members is provided. The base member has a central passage that is configured to receive an antenna shaft. The plurality of spaced retaining attachment sections are coupled to the base member. A retaining member is coupled to each retaining attachment section. Each retaining member has an engagement portion that is configured to engage an upper surface of a ceiling and a biasing portion that is configured to provide a bias force on the engagement portion to engage the upper surface of the ceiling.

Antenna mounting system

Systems and methods for RF hazard protection are provided. In one embodiment, a RF protection coupler comprises: a first port to couple to an output of an RF source circuit; a second port to couple to an external RF load; a source side and load side RF switches, wherein the source side RF switch and the load side RF switch are each switch between a first and second states in response to a detected matting. In the first state the source and load side RF switches establish an electrical path between the first and second ports. In the second state: the source side RF switch couples the first port to an impedance load that is impedance matched to the output of the RF source circuit; the load side RF switch couples the second port to an electrical ground; and a gap between the switches electrically isolates the ports.

Systems and methods for radio frequency hazard protection for external load connections

Methods and apparatuses are provided that configure downlink and uplink signal paths by obtaining information about at least one of a downlink filter and an uplink filter in a duplexer unit after the duplexer unit is coupled to a primary uplink signal path and a primary downlink signal path. Based upon such information, at least one component of the downlink and uplink signal paths is adjusted to compensate for the insertion losses of a downlink filter and an uplink filter, where the downlink signal path comprises a secondary downlink signal path in the duplexer unit and the primary downlink signal path, and the uplink signal path comprises a secondary uplink signal path in the duplexer unit and the primary uplink signal path.

Methods and apparatuses for automatic filter identification

In an example, a node of a telecommunications system includes a first section having one or more passive components; a second section including one or more power amplifier modules and a power supply, wherein the second section is coupled to the first section using fasteners; a distribution unit including a plate and a circuit board, wherein the second section is coupled to the distribution unit using fasteners; a cooling section; a first plurality of heat pipes extending from the one or more power amplifier modules to the cooling section; a second plurality of heat pipes extending from the first section into the second section; and a housing enclosing the first section and the second section.

One embodiment is directed to a tool to cut and strip a radiating coaxial cable. The tool comprises first and second jaws, a linkage that couples the first jaw to the second jaw, a cutting blade, and a stripping blade. The tool is configured to position at least a portion of the cutting blade to cut and sever the cable at a first point along the cable when the tool is rotated around the cable while the first jaw and the second jaw are closed around the cable. The tool is configured to position at least a portion of the stripping blade to cut the jacket of the cable, without severing the cable, at a second point along the cable when the tool is rotated around the cable while the first jaw and the second jaw are closed around the cable. In one embodiment, an emergency configuration control device is provided for a communications system that provides wireless RF communication service to a coverage area, wherein the system comprises an RF protection function coupled to at least one power amplifier, protection function configured to disable the power amplifier when the protection function determines that at least one parameter of the power amplifier has deviated outside of an operating specification, the device comprising: an emergency configuration control module executed by a controller, the emergency configuration control module configured to determine when an emergency event is occurring within the coverage area as a function of a first set of input signals; wherein the emergency configuration control module enters phase one operation and inhibits disabling of the power amplifier by the RF protection function and outputs one or more phase one notification signals in response to determining that the emergency event is occurring.

Systems and methods for emergency operation of a wireless communication system

A remote antenna unit for a distributed antenna system is provided. The remote antenna unit includes a remote unit processor and a multifunctional port. The remote unit processor is configured to control communication operations of the remote antenna unit. The multifunctional port is configured to interface at least one of communications between at least one component of an extension card and the remote unit controller and power to the extension card.

Certain aspects are directed to a mounting assembly for mounting an antenna unit or other device. The mounting assembly includes at least one bracket and at least one retaining assembly. The bracket can be movably positioned at multiple orientation angles with respect to a surface. The bracket includes a latching edge that defines multiple recesses. Each of the recesses corresponds to one of the orientation angles. The retaining assembly is positioned adjacent to the bracket. The retaining assembly includes at least one protrusion that can engage one of the recesses to form a latching connection between the bracket and the retaining assembly. The latching connection can retain the bracket at an orientation angle corresponding to the engaged recess.

Scalable telecommunications systems and methods are provided. In one embodiment, a node unit for a scalable telecommunications system comprises: a plurality of universal digital RF transceivers each configured to communicatively couple the node unit to external equipment; one or more universal digital transport interfaces each configured to communicatively couple the node unit to a respective transport link; a universal backplane communicatively coupled to the universal digital RF transceivers and universal digital transport interfaces; and a system controller; wherein each of the universal digital RF transceivers is configured to couple to a respective modular power amplifier and a modular duplexer inserted within the node unit. The system controller is configured to detect capabilities of at least one of the universal digital RF transceivers, the universal digital transport interfaces, the universal backplane, the modular power amplifier and modular duplexer, and adjust parameters of the node unit in response to the detected capabilities.

Scalable telecommunications system

Certain features relate to a telecommunications system with a modular frequency combiner combining multiple received signals at different frequency bands without using frequency-dependent multiplexers. The frequency combiner can include adjustable tuning elements for adjusting various signal-processing parameters of the frequency combiner while the frequency combiner is in the telecommunications system. For example, adjustable tuning elements can adjust the phases of phase shifters of each RF path so that the RF paths are matched for combining the received signals and outputting them through an output port. The adjustable tuning elements can also adjust the electrical length or physical length of the transmission lines that carry the received signals. The adjustable tuning elements can be adjusted manually or automatically while the frequency combiner is deployed in the field in the telecommunications system.

Module for combining signals having different frequencies

One aspect is directed to a node unit for a scalable telecommunications system. The node unit is configured to have inserted therein a respective power amplifier module and duplexing module for each of a plurality universal digital RF transceiver modules. The node unit is configured to communicatively couple an input of each power amplifier module to an output of the respective universal digital RF transceiver module. The node unit is configured to communicatively couple each universal digital RF transceiver module to respective external equipment via a duplexing module. At least one module comprises a module identifier. The system controller is configured to read the at least one module identifier and to configure the operation of at least one of universal digital RF transceiver modules, universal digital transport interface modules, and universal backplane module based on the at least one module identifier.

Connecting element, in particular for an RF application, having a plug part, comprising an internal conductor which extends in the axial direction and an external conductor which surrounds the internal conductor, wherein the internal conductor and the external conductor are shaped at one end of the plug part to form a plug connection, wherein the plug connection can be freely plugged, and the plug part is axially displaceably mounted, as such, in a mounting module and is supported by means of a prestressing means so as to counteract a plugging force. In this case, provision is made for a plate spring to be arranged at the base of the external conductor. A device, in particular for an RF application, having a connecting element of this kind is also specified.
