A portable radiant heater comprises an electrically energized heating element extending along a vertical axis. A first, multi-faceted, concave reflective surface is positioned to the rear of the heating element. A second reflector is positioned forward of and in close proximity to the heating element. The first reflector directs radiant energy received directly from the heating element and indirectly from the second reflector forward with minimal radial dispersion.

Portable radiant heater with two reflectors

A reversible, self-contained cooking appliance. A heating plate is suspended between first and second insulating end stands. The heating plate has first and second cooking surfaces on opposite sides thereof and includes an integral heater. The end stands support the heating plate for cooking in a first orientation. One of the end stands is adapted to store the cooking appliance in a vertical position for storage. During use the end stands position a reflector between the heating plate and a support surface so that the reflector minimizes any heat transfer to the supporting surface. In a preferred form a drain is disposed along one end of the heating plate to allow grease and other cooking materials to drain into the reflector.

Reversible self-contained cooking appliance

A kitchen appliance in the form of an oven for baking, roasting and broiling is associated with a bread making apparatus featuring a bread baking pan adapted to be selectively placed into the oven. The oven includes heating elements at least at the top and bottom of the oven chamber. The bread making apparatus includes a metallic pan with a structure for locating the pan at a predetermined position within the oven chamber. In this position, a drive mechanism can rotate a blade for kneading dough in the pan.

Combined baking oven and automatic bread baking apparatus

An apparatus for heating water is provided having a water receptacle including a bottom wall and side walls for containing a volume of water therein to be heated. The bottom wall of the receptacle has an exterior surface and an interior surface proximate the volume of water to be heated. The water is heated by a heater contained within the water receptacle and secured to the interior surface of the bottom wall of the receptacle by a securement pin which extends through the bottom wall and is threadably engaged with the heater. The heater is elevated from the interior surface of the water receptacle by a collar of high insulation material which is received within a peripheral groove portion of the heater such that the tightening of the securement pin compresses the rubber collar to create a seal between the heater and the bottom wall of the water receptacle. In addition, the elevating collar serves as a barrier between the heater and the bottom wall such that the heater is not in direct contact with the water receptacle wherein in the event of overheating, the heater does not melt or burn the water receptacle.

Immersion heater and support structure

A coffee brewing apparatus for producing a selectively flavored, liquid coffee beverage, having a housing, a receptacle, securable to the housing, for retaining ground virgin coffee beans to be brewed, a dispensing means, at least partially disposed within the housing, for optionally dispensing flavored compositions into the receptacle and onto the ground coffee contained therein and brewing means, at least partially disposed within the housing, for introducing a heated liquid into the receptacle to thereby produce a selectively flavored coffee beverage is provided.

Coffee brewing apparatus

An automatic bread making apparatus including a housing having an interior surface and defining a top opening is provided. A top cover is provided for covering the top opening of said housing, the top cover having an interior wall and an interior partition, with the interior partition defining a space between the top cover interior wall and the interior partition. A baking chamber having interior and exterior surfaces, the baking chamber positioned within the housing to form an air space between the interior surface of the housing and the exterior surface of the baking chamber is also provided. The baking chamber defines an opening covered by the partition. A baking pan made of a heat-conductive material is also provided, the baking pan positioned within the baking chamber to define an air space between the interior surface of the baking chamber and the baking pan. A first centrifugal impeller is mounted within the cover and configured to supply and circulate heated air to the air space defined between the interior surface of the baking chamber and the baking pan. A second centrifugal impeller mounted within the cover and configured to supply cool air to the space defined between the interior surface of the housing and the exterior surface of the baking chamber and between the interior wall of the top cover and the partition.

Automatic bread-making apparatus

An automatic bread making apparatus is provided, the apparatus having a housing having an interior surface, a baking chamber having interior and exterior surfaces, and a baking pan fabricated from a heat-resistant material. The baking chamber is positioned within the housing to form an air space between the interior surface of the housing and the exterior surface of the baking chamber. The baking chamber is also provided with an openable transparent top cover. The baking pan is positioned within the baking chamber to define an air space between the interior surface of the baking chamber and the baking pan. A first impeller is provided to supply and circulate heated air within the air space defined between the interior surface of the baking chamber and the baking pan. A second impeller is provided to supply cool air to the space defined between the interior surface of the housing and the exterior surface of the baking chamber.

An electric air heating element is designed for positioning in the cylindrical or conical outlet tube of a hair dryer. It consists of a star-shaped coil carrier in the shape of four fins extending radially from a common center line in the axis of the outlet tube towards the tube walls. The fin edges are serrated by adjacent rectangular slots, the slots on each edge penetrating alternately to a shallow and to a greater depth, and a ribbon-shaped resister laid into these slots is helically wound around the coil carrier. In this way successive windings lie in different planes and air turbulence around the heating coil is thereby increased, improving the heat transfer between the resistor windings and the throughflowing air.

Electric air heating element

A space heater comprises a heater plate made of a metal sheet provided with vertical corrugations, the corrugations in the bottom portion of the sheet being compressed to a flat strip of a thickness not less than three times the thickness of the sheet. The corrugations are so dimensioned that the unfolded length of the metal sheet is three times the length of the corrugated length of the heater body. One, two or more electric flat heating elements are laid along the compressed bottom edge and pressed against it by a U-shaped retaining channel. When serving as a room air-heater, the heater plate is covered on one or both sides by protective panels to prevent people from touching the hot plate and to increase convective air current flow.
