A fuel control system of a vehicle includes a first storing module that, in response to receipt of a vehicle shutdown command, stores a first temperature of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) within an LPG fuel rail of an engine and a first pressure of LPG within the LPG fuel rail. A second storing module, in response to receipt of a vehicle startup command, stores a second temperature of LPG within the LPG fuel rail and a second pressure of LPG within the LPG fuel rail. A butane module determines an amount of butane in the LPG based on the first temperature, the first pressure, the second temperature, and the second pressure. A fuel control module controls LPG fueling of the engine based on the amount of butane in the LPG.

Liquefied petroleum gas butane composition determination systems and methods

A leak detection system of a vehicle includes a first minimum module, a first maximum module, a difference module, and a diagnostic module. The first minimum module, at a first time, determines a first minimum amount of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in an LPG tank based on a first level of LPG in the LPG tank. The first maximum module, at a second time after the first time, determines a first maximum amount of LPG in the LPG tank based on a second level of LPG in the LPG tank. The difference module determines a difference between the first minimum amount, the first maximum amount, and an amount of LPG consumed by an engine between the first and second times. The diagnostic module selectively indicates that a leak is present in the LPG tank based on the difference.

Liquefied petroleum gas tank leak detection systems and methods

A control system includes an engine control module that generates fuel injector command signals for fuel injectors of an engine and engine parameter signals that indicate operating characteristics of the engine. A fuel injector control module communicates with the engine control module via a network. The engine control module transmits the engine parameter signals to the fuel injector control module via the network. The fuel injector control module generates compensated fuel injector signals based on the fuel injector command signals and the engine parameter signals. The engine control module may generate fuel injector command signals for a gaseous fuel mode based on signals received from the fuel injector control module.
