A safety anchor for installing in a hole drilled into a structure, the anchor having a hanger member, a threaded member, and a hollow sleeve member, the sleeve member having a lip portion adapted to stand outside the drilled hole to facilitate grasping the sleeve portion and removing it from the hole after the anchor has been installed in the drilled hole, and the hanger member having a recess adapted to provide a volume of relief above the surface of the structure for receiving the lip member.

An expansion bolt including a housing member integrally formed as a single piece of material, the housing member having a base, a plurality of elongate elastic members extending distally from the base, the elongate elastic members distally terminating in respective spoons, and the elongate elastic members having thicknesses that are substantially less than thicknesses of the base and the spoons, a central shaft member extending through the housing member and terminating in a wedge member, the spoons defining a cavity for receiving the wedge member, the elongate elastic members structured to bend outwardly in response to the wedge member moving into the cavity, and a biasing member for biasing the shaft member relative to the housing member in the direction of said increasing relative translation.

Expansion bolt and pivot and swivel mechanism therefor

An expansion bolt and pivot and swivel mechanism therefor. The expansion bolt may have a base and a plurality of radially spreadable elongate elastic members cantileveredly projecting from the base at respective points of joinder to the base and terminating in respective spoons at respective points of joinder of the spoons, wherein the elongate elastic members have respective radially defined thicknesses at the points of joinder to the base that are substantially less than the corresponding thicknesses of the base, and respective radially defined thicknesses at the points of joinder of the spoons that are substantially less than the corresponding thicknesses of the spoons. The pivot and swivel mechanism may have a ring element that includes two spaced apart leg members having foot portions that turn to extend toward each other, the foot portions having respective, spaced-apart relatively enlarged ends; a swivel housing element having an open end for receiving and at least partially containing the ends of the foot portions so that the ring element can be substantially freely rotated about a pivot axis; and a capping element adapted for interlocking with the open end of the swivel housing element, the capping element having a bottom surface portion of radial symmetry about a swivel axis that is distinct from the pivot axis.

A quick-release attachment point for fall protection. It includes a body portion, a retaining member, a capturing and releasing mechanism, a remote control module, and an energy source. The body portion, and the retaining member in a normal position thereof, together form a closed aperture for capturing a D-ring attachment point or other article of attachment hardware. The capturing and release mechanism is operated through the remote control module to free the retaining member so that it can move, in response to energy provided by the energy source, in a direction away from the normal operating position and in an amount such that it no longer closes the aperture, so that the article can escape from the apparatus.

Quick-release attachment point for fall protection

An unfurlable rescue ladder. The ladder includes a progress capture element allowing someone who deploys the ladder for rescuing a person who has fallen to also assist the person to climb the ladder.

Unfurlable rescue ladder

A first attachment portion has a first closed aperture defining a circular ring portion that extends over a first circumferential range of at least 180 degrees of arc that is symmetrically disposed relative to an axis. A second attachment portion has a second closed aperture. The first and second attachment portions are joined together so as to permit freely swiveling one of the attachment portions relative to the other around the axis. The second aperture has a shape that is substantially different from the shape of the first aperture, for connecting to substantially different articles.

Swivel D-ring attachment point

A swivel D-ring attachment point. A first attachment portion has a first closed aperture defining a circular ring portion that extends over a first circumferential range of at least 180 degrees of arc that is symmetrically disposed relative to an axis. A second attachment portion has a second closed aperture. The first and second attachment portions are joined together so as to permit freely swivelling one of the attachment portions relative to the other around the axis. The second aperture has a shape that is substantially different from the shape of the first aperture, for connecting to substantially different articles.

A concrete anchor point system provides for an anchor point, a receptacle for embedding into a concrete structure for removably receiving the anchor point, and a tool for remotely installing the anchor point in the structure, or removing the anchor point from the structure. The receptacle is preferably tapered, and an anchoring end of the anchor point is preferably tapered to match.

Concrete anchor point system

A beam anchor. The beam anchor includes an elongate cross-member, a lanyard attachment structure attached to the cross-member, a pair of first and second spaced apart beam capturing members attached to the cross-member. Either or both capturing members may have a locking mechanism that is cantilevered from the capturing member, and the lanyard attachment structure may have a lanyard attachment ring connector that is capable of rotating about the cross-member but that is constrained to a fixed position along the cross-member by use of a ring or partial ring structure attached to the cross-member that extends through a slot in the lanyard attachment ring connector.

Beam anchor

A swivel anchor point for fall protection. The swivel anchor point includes a ring element and a housing element. The ring element defines a closed attachment aperture. The housing element is adapted to receive and retain the ring element such that the ring element can be freely rotated through a swivel angle of at least 180 degrees about a swivel axis, and freely rotated through a pivot angle of at least 90 degrees about a pivot axis that is perpendicular to the swivel axis and that substantially intersects the swivel axis. The ring element includes two spaced apart leg members, the leg members having foot portions extending inwardly, toward the swivel axis. The foot portions have respective, spaced apart relatively enlarged ends. The housing element includes apertures corresponding to these ends, the apertures being suitably sized, closer to the swivel axis, for pivotally receiving the ends, while being of a sufficiently smaller size, farther from the swivel axis, to prevent passage of the ends therethrough.

Swivel anchor point for fall protection

An anchor bolt providing for fall protection. The anchor bolt has an anchoring device that may be of any standard type, for making use of an aperture either in or through a structure as an anchoring point, an elongate flexible member connected to the anchoring device at one end of the elongate flexible member, and a handle connected to a second end of the flexible member. The handle member is pivotally attached to the second end, for pivoting about the elongate axis of the flexible member as it extends from the second end. Preferably, the anchoring device is a novel, toggling type in which a toggling member is pivotally attached to the flexible member at a ball joint.

Anchor bolt providing for fall protection

A beam anchor. The beam anchor is generally used for attaching to a flanged beam that has been made a part of a structure, to provide fall protection for a worker working on the structure. The beam anchor includes a main cross-member with a beam capturing member at each end. One or both of the capturing members have associated therewith respective yaw restoring mechanisms providing a combined restoring torque for urging the cross-member in counteraction to twisting thereof by a yaw angle in a yaw plane that is substantially parallel to the surface portions. Preferably, a lanyard attachment member is slidably disposed on the cross-member and spring-biased into a relatively centered position between the capturing members.

An expansion bolt. A first chock has first and second outer ramping surfaces. A second chock has an inner ramping surface complementarily corresponding to the first outer ramping surface. A spring member biases the second chock radially inwardly against the first outer ramping surface of the first chock.
