Hybrid drive

A motor vehicle drive arrangement has a locomotive drive train and at least one liquid pump capable of being driven by the latter. During a standstill in rotation or during very slow rotation of the locomotive drive train, the pump is capable of being driven by an electric motor instead of by the locomotive drive train. Beyond a defined minimum rotational speed of the locomotive drive train, the liquid pump is capable of being driven by the latter instead of by the electric motor. At least one free-wheel is provided for this purpose.

A fuel cell system and method for supplying electrical devices with electric energy in a vehicle wherein, to increase the efficiency of the power generation, the fuel cell system is supplied with atmospheric oxygen from the compressed air system. Additionally, a compressed air reservoir or a compressor for ambient air is provided in order to supply the fuel cell system with atmospheric oxygen.

A process for the removal of galvanic electrolytic residues from galvanically reinforced fiber structure frames, where the fiber structure frame is produced through chemical metallization of a textile substrate based on fleeces or felts made of synthetic fibers and then through galvanic reinforcement of the metallized textile substrate in a galvanic bath containing a galvanic electrolyte. The invention provides that the galvanic electrolytic residues are removed by suction from the fiber structure frame. The fiber structure frame then makes contact at least once under high pressure with the wash liquid in a wash station, and subsequently the wash liquid is removed by suction from the fiber structure frame. In order to remove by suction, the galvanic electrolytic residues or the wash liquid, a belt-shaped porous supporting device is inserted between the suction port and a main area of the fiber structure frame.

An apparatus and method for starting a vehicle which is driven by an electric drive unit supplied with electrical energy from a fuel cell. A compressor is arranged in the feed line of the fuel cell for the oxidant mass flow and is driven by an electric motor supplied with voltage from the fuel cell itself. For the purpose of starting the fuel cell, a starter motor is provided for driving the compressor which is fed from a 12 V starter battery. In addition, a safety interrogation is initiated before starting the vehicle. The fuel cell is not run up to a prescribed no-load power with the aid of the starter motor until successful termination of the safety interrogation. The drive unit is then released after this no-load power has been reached.

Apparatus and method for starting a fuel cell vehicle

A method and an apparatus are provided for controlling the power of an electric drive unit in a vehicle. The drive unit is supplied with electrical energy by a fuel cell in the vehicle. On the basis of a power request which is determined from the accelerator pedal position, the air flow rate required to provide the set power from the fuel cell is calculated and set by controlling rotational speed of a compressor arranged in the air intake line to the fuel cell. To prevent the fuel cell from producing more electrical power than the drive unit can absorb, the drive unit acts limits the power request by emitting appropriate error messages. The set value for the power is fed to the drive unit and can be corrected such that the drive unit never demands more power than the amount of power instantaneously produced by the fuel cell to prevent fuel cell collapse.

The invention relates to a fuel injection device for an air-compressing fuel-injected internal combustion engine, which has an injection line leading from a pump element of high pressure injection pump to a bifurcation branch leading to a main injection nozzle and a preinjection nozzle. A nozzle needle of the preinjection nozzle opens counter to the direction of flow of the fuel and has a body designed with a stepped piston which, in the case of a closure initiating fuel pressure lying above an opening fuel pressure of the nozzle needle, moves the nozzle into a position to end preinjection.

A method and system for determining optimum ignition times with regard to engine operation in which the engine is commanded, at regular, short-time intervals, to operate under conditions which cause knocking in order to be able to sense the knock limit. This is achieved, following the occurrence of a characteristic operating parameter in conjunction with a knock signal, at a frequency which is preferably significant, by storing an appropriately-corrected ignition-time value in a set of correction data, this ignition-time value lying somewhat beneath the knock limit. If the same characteristic operating parameter recurs, an optimum ignition time is accordingly indicated, which lies slightly beneath the knock limit. This procedure enables the engine to be operated under conditions which are optimum with regard to fuel consumption, without entering the knocking range with excessive frequency.
