An intake manifold for a charged internal combustion engine has an intercooler provided with coolant connectors that is disposed in an intake manifold housing. The intake manifold housing has at least two housing parts including a basic housing part. The intake manifold housing is provided with at least one inlet and at least one outlet for charge air and is further provided with at least one passage for the coolant connectors of the intercooler. The intercooler is arranged between the at least one inlet and the at least one outlet so as to be flowed through by the charge air. The intercooler is fastened in the basic housing part by a fastening device such that the intercooler separates at least on one side of the basic housing part the at least one inlet seal-tightly from the at least one outlet.

A stub connection for a heat exchanger that is arranged in a housing and has a stack including plates and fins. The housing consists of housing parts which can be joined together, and at least one first stub for a first heat-exchanging medium being integrated directly into the housing. The stub connection also includes at least one second stub for a second heat-exchanging medium that extends to outside the housing. The at least one second stub is configured for the connection of a line and is integrated directly or indirectly into the housing.

A stub connection for a heat exchanger that is arranged in a housing. The stub connection includes a first part which is fastened to the heat exchanger and a second part which has a stub shank extending through an opening in the housing and is seated in a hole of the first part. The stub connection also includes at least two seals. The first seal is an annular seal, which is seated in a groove of the stub shank and the second seal is a gasket, which is arranged between the opening, the stub shank, and the first part. The first seal is seated in the hole and seals between the stub shank and the first part.

The filter element is designed as an exchangeable filter and is arranged exchangeable in a receiving space provided in the filter receptacle. The filter receptacle has a housing opening communicating with the receiving space. Through the housing opening the filter element is inserted into the receiving space and removed from the receiving space. The housing opening is located on a side of the filter receptacle that is facing away from the vehicle wheel brake.

A brake dust collector for a motor vehicles for collecting brake dust has a dust collecting device with a filter element and a filter receptacle in which the filter element is arranged. The filter element is a shaped filter and has at least two partial sections. The at least two partial sections each have a filter material of a different porosity including a first partial section with a great porosity and a second partial section with a small porosity.

A suction pipe assembly of an internal combustion engine has a suction pipe and a cooling fluid intercooler arranged in the suction pipe. A seal chamber is provided that is delimited by at least one section of the suction pipe and at least one section connected with the cooling fluid intercooler. A seal, disposed in the seal chamber, seals the suction pipe relative to the cooling fluid intercooler. The seal is made of an initially flowable sealing material introduced into the seal chamber in an initially flowable state and subsequently cured in a curing phase in the seal chamber. The seal chamber is seal-tightly closed with the exception of at least one fill opening through which the sealing material is introduced into the seal chamber.

A charge air duct for an internal combustion engine includes a housing with at least one entrance and at least one exit for charge air. A heat exchanger is arranged inside the housing to cool the charge air, a bypass is arranged on the housing to at least partially circumvent the heat exchanger and an actuator is arranged on the housing to influence the charge air flow. The charge air is guided from the entrance to the heat exchanger in a first position of the actuator and from the entrance to the bypass in a second position of the actuator, and the actuator at least partially reduces a cross-section of the charge air in a third position.

A charge air duct for an internal combustion engine includes a housing with at least one entrance and at least one exit for charge air, a first heat exchanger arranged inside the housing to cool the charge air, a bypass arranged on the housing to at least partially circumvent the heat exchanger, and an actuator arranged on the housing to influence the charge air flow. The charge air is guided from the entrance to the first heat exchanger in a first position of the actuator and from the entrance to the bypass in a second position of the actuator, and the bypass leads upstream of a second heat exchanger of the charge air duct.

The arrangement of a charge air cooler in an intake system of an internal combustion engine has a charge air cooler that on the one hand is supplied with combustion air and on the other hand with a liquid coolant. A coolant/air cooler is provided in which the liquid coolant is cooled by an air stream. The charge air cooler is slantedly arranged in a pipe conduit for the charge air with regard to the end face of a heat exchanger block exposed to the charge air. The end face of the charge air cooler is arranged relative to the cross-section of the pipe conduit at an angle of &#x3e;45&#xb0;.

An internal combustion engine with a system for secondary air charging has a combustion unit, an intake air conduit connected to the combustion unit, and an exhaust gas conduit connected to the combustion unit. A throttle is arranged in the intake air conduit. A turbo-engine is connected to the intake air conduit by a supply conduit upstream of the throttle and by a discharge conduit downstream of the throttle. A compressor is provided wherein the turbo-engine is connected operatively to the compressor and wherein the compressor is connected by a connecting line to the exhaust gas conduit. A valve is arranged in the discharge conduit. A vacuum cell actuates the valve. An electro-pneumatic converter is operatively connected to the vacuum cell. The vacuum cell, when reaching a defined differential pressure, opens the valve suddenly so that a vacuum pulse is generated that acts on the turbo-engine.

A non-positive-displacement machine (), particularly a turbomachine for producing a mass flow, having a central housing part () inside which a turbine shaft is mounted. A turbine housing is mounted on the central housing part () on a turbine side and a compressor housing is mounted on the central housing part () on a compressor side. A method and an apparatus for determining the performance of a secondary air charging system for an internal combustion engine in order to determine the amount of secondary air supplied in the secondary air charging system. This is achieved by measuring the heat generated by the compression of the secondary air with temperature sensors. Insofar as the secondary air charging system is powered by a turbine arranged in parallel with the throttle valve in the intake tract, the measured temperature value for the compressor can be compared with a reduction in temperature of the intake air behind the turbine. Reliable information concerning the amount of secondary air supplied can be determined by simple sensors, thereby obviating the need for an air-mass sensor which is expensive to produce and sensitive to contamination.
