A slide gate nozzle for a slide gate carried by a closure frame which includes two independent arms pivotally connected with a casting vessel for slidably moving the slide gate with respect to the casting vessel and for moving the slide gate away from the vessel to facilitate changing of the ceramic plates. Rocker frames are pivotally connected with the arms and include rollers on which a guide rail rides in the sliding direction of the slide gate, and the swivelly connected rocker frame assures even pressure of the ceramic plates.

A process for the production of a refractory lining within a tubular vessel which comprises disposing said tubular vessel so that the longitudinal axis running therethrough is horizontal, slinging a moist refractory mass onto a longitudinal or annular section of the interior wall of the tubular vessel and thereafter applying moist refractory mass to additional longitudinal or annular sections as the case may be. The process can be conducted either by rotating the vessel so as to expose successive annular sections and applying refractory mass to said sections from a fixed position or it can be performed by moving the source of refractory mass longitudinally to cover longitudinal sections and rotating the vessel only partially so as to bring the stream of refractory mass against a second longitudinal section. Devices to carry out these processes are disclosed including a slinger machine disposed for longitudinal movement within the vessel and means for rotating the vessel to the desired extent. Reciprocatingly movable supply means for supplying refractory mass to the slinger machine are also provided.

Method and device for production of refractory lining of a tubular vessel

A process for removing dust produced in the lining of casting ladles wherein a slinging mass is slung between the inner walls of the ladle and an opposing template whereby a free space is defined between the ladle wall and the template which free space contains dust which process involves sucking the dust in the free space from a point near the upper edge of the template into a region behind the template; an apparatus for performing such a process comprising a template, a suction conduit inside said template having an inlet and an outlet, the inlet being in fluid communication with particles disposed near the upper edge of said template, the suction conduit including filtering means for filtering out entrained particles from air sucked therethrough, the filtering means including means for collecting filtered particles, the outlet end of the suction conduit includes means for sucking air therethrough.
