For the purpose of loading the magazine of a scalp clip applicator with C-shaped scalp clips, a feed container is provided for accommodating a row of scalp clips and an insert means is arranged on the magazine for connecting the feed container with the magazine such that the scalp clips can be transferred one after the other from the feed container into the magazine.

In an applicator for C-shaped scalp clips with applying instruments in the form of a movable edge and a stationary edge and with a retaining element for the scalp clips, the moved edge can be brought closer still to the stationary edge while the retaining element is fixed in its open position. When the direction of motion is reversed, the movable edge immediately takes the retaining element back with it into its locking position. The movable edge is thus coupled with the pivotable retaining element by a slip coupling.

Applicator for C-shaped scalp clips

A stapler, particularly for suturing skin wounds or incisions, is disclosed which comprises a channel in which a driver is advanced by a slide in the direction of an anvil surface. A staple magazine which extends substantially parallel with the driver includes a curved section which opens into the channel to deliver staples into the channel for engagement by the driver. During forward displacement of the driver, a projection on the driver presses a leaf spring to which the anvil surface is connected. The anvil surface at the forward end of the leaf spring is thereby brought into its operating position and is automatically moved back into its retracted position upon release of the spring after the driver is retracted. The curved section in the staple magazine enables the stapler to have a slim profile which does not obscure the working area during a stapling operation. After completion of a stapling operation, the anvil surface is automatically retracted from a closed, implanted staple.

A surgical staple is disclosed comprising an arcuate central region which can be flattened by a stapling tool. Straight legs extend obliquely upwardly from the central region to which are connected downwardly extending side portions. The side portions are curved substantially in the form of an arc of a circle having a center at the center for the central region. When the central region is flattened, the side portions move about an arc of a circle so that automatic puncture channels are produced. Tearing of tissue is thereby prevented.

An approximator having at least one pair of parallel guide bars which are connected to each other rigidly on one of their adjacent ends, and having at least one clamp of which one is arranged longitudinally displaceable on the guide bars of a pair and is fixable on these in any desired displaced position. At least one additional bar pair each with respectively one displaceable and fixable clamp. The additional bar pair is pivotally connected with the at least one first mentioned bar pair and with respect to this bar pair is fixable in selective relative positions.

Approximator for anastomotic surgery

An approximator for anastomotic surgery having two parallel guide bars connected rigidly at one end to a fixed clamp holder. Another clamp holder is displaceably guided on the guide bars. One of the guide bars is a meshing bar non-rotatably mounted to the fixed clamp holder. A driver is mounted on the displaceable clamp holder rotatably about an axis crossing the longitudinal axis of the meshing bar and is formed with a toothed gear engaging the driving bar, the latter and the toothed gear forming a rack and pinion gearing.

A surgical milling tool with a hand-operated milling machine for milling the heads or sockets of bone joints of spherical shape is disclosed. The tool is formed of a hemispherical cup integrally formed with a cylindrical skirt and flange and is provided with a plurality of openings of semi-oval shape, each having a cutting edge arranged at the minor axis of the oval shape. The openings are situated such that, upon rotation of the cup, the cutting edges thereof overlap to provide a continuous cutting edge surface conforming generally to the shape of the cup.
