A flea trap including a horizontally oriented base and a vertically oriented cover, the cover extending upwardly from the rear edge of the base, and the base extending forwardly from the bottom edge of the cover. The base has a horizontal insert tray slot adapted to receive an insert tray that has a tacky upper surface. The insert tray slot has an upwardly opening tray slot window, through which fleas may fall to land on the tacky surface, and access means for the insertion and removal of the insert tray. The cover has a light source with means to direct the light substantially forwardly, across the base, toward the area in front of the flea trap.

Flea trap

An insect trap having a back portion and a base portion oriented at essentially right angles to each other. The trap back portion contains a light source to attract insects, especially fleas, to the trap and the trap base portion contains an insect structure which bears on its surface an adhesive material for trapping the insects attracted to the trap. The trap back and base portions may be configured so that they may be folded against each other when the trap is not in use.

Apparatus and method for using a compressed gas in an aerosol spray system to produce and maintain an effective aerosol spray includes the use of an aerosol spray valve 4 for emitting the aerosol spray. A dip tube 18 is coupled to the valve 4 and extends into the spray system. The tube 18 has an upper portion which is substantially airtight above an initial liquid level 14. A lower portion of the dip tube 18 extends below the initial liquid level 14 and has a liquid entrance hole 24 substantially at the bottom thereof. A vapor tap hole 26 is provided in the dip tube 18 above the liquid entrance hole 24 and below the initial liquid level 14. The vapor tap hole 26 allows compressed gas 16 to enter the tube 18 and mix with the liquid 20 therein when the liquid level 28 has fallen below the vapor tap hole. Even after the pressure has fallen, the mixing of the compressed gas 16 with the liquid 20 in the dip tube 18 substantially reestablishes the deteriorated spray characteristics to produce an effective aerosol spray.

An improvement in a sealed pouch made of molecularly-orientable polymeric film that is sealed along peripheral edge margins is disclosed. The pouch defines a sealed cavity for containment of a fluid. The pouch also defines a sealed fluid-discharge spout that is in fluid communication with the fluid cavity. The pouch further defines a seam disposed between the fluid cavity and the spout. The improvement comprises at least three essential features. One such feature is that a portion of the polymeric film which defines a fluid-discharge end of the spout is molecularly-oriented in a preselected direction. Another such feature is that a portion of the seam defines a slit disposed transverse to the preselected direction. Still another feature is that a portion of the sealed pouch peripheral edge margin in the vicinity of the fluid-discharge end of the spout defines a tear-initiating notch oriented in the preselected direction.

A valve cup for use in an aerosol dispenser is configured to provide an anti-seating feature. In one embodiment, dimples are impressed in the sidewalls of a valve cup to inhibit seating of the valve cup flange on the circular shaped ring around the periphery of an opening at one end of the aerosol dispenser. In a second embodiment, detents are placed on the edge of the flange in which the sidewalls of the valve cup terminate to inhibit the seating of the flange on the circular shaped ring.
