The invention concerns a conductive composition comprising (by weight): 30 to 60 parts of a fluid PVDF; 25 to 62 parts of a viscous PVDF; 8 to 13 parts of a conductive filler; 0 to 2 parts of a fire retardant agent; 0 to 0.05 parts of a nucleating agent, based on a total of 100 parts. Preferably, it comprises by weight: 35 to 50 parts of a fluid PVDF; 45 to 55 parts of a viscous PVDF; 8 to 13 parts of a conductive filler; 0 to 2 parts of a fireproof agent; 0 to 0.05 parts of a nucleating agent, based on a total of 100 parts. Preferably, the conductive composition has a viscosity in the molten state at 230&#xb0; C. of less than 10Pa&#xb7;s, preferably between 10and 10Pa&#xb7;s. The invention also concerns multilayer structures combining the conductive composition and a thermoplastic polymer or a metal.

PVDF-based conductive composition

The present invention relates to a method for radiation grafting a compound by irradiation, that can be grafted onto a fluoropolymer, so as to prevent destabilization of the fluorinated polymer. Said method comprises the following steps: a) the fluoropolymer is mixed in the melted state thereof with a graftable compound; b) the mixture obtained in a) is converted into films, plates, granulates or powder; c) the products from step b) are subjected to photonic (&#x3b3;) or electronic (&#x3b2;) irradiation in a dose of between 0.5 and 15 Mrad; and d) optionally, the products from step c) are washed and/or a degassed. According to said method, a stabilizing agent is added to the fluorinated polymer. Said stabilizing agent can be an antioxidant, a graftable metal salt, or a combination of the two. The invention also relates to structures comprising at least one layer of said mixtures and at least one layer of another material, and to the use of said structures to obtain a barrier effect. Said structures act as a barrier to a plurality of fluids, especially to petrol and to air-conditioning fluids, and can take the form of bottles, tanks, containers, pipes, and all kinds of recipients. They can also be transformed into films used to produce packaging.

Method for grafting a fluorinated polymer and multilayer structures comprising said grafted fluoropolymer

The invention concerns to a composition comprising: at least one fluorinated polymer (A), at least one interfacing agent (B), and at least one stabilizer (C) of formula (I) wherein Arand Arrepresent an aryl group. The composition is used as an agent for extruding a thermoplastic polyolefin or resin. The invention also concerns an extruding method consisting in: (i) contacting in the solid phase a composition as defined above with a thermoplastic polyolefin or a thermoplastic resin; (ii) then extruding the mixture obtained in (i) in the form of a film, a tube, a profiled section or a hollow body.

PVDF-based extrusion-aiding agent

The present invention relates to a composition coextrudable with PVDF and comprising: 30 to 50 parts of PVDF; 70 to 50 parts of a copolymer comprising, by weight, 90 to 50% of methyl methacrylate (MMA) per 10 to 50% of an alkyl (meth)acrylate respectively, the alkyl having from 2 to 24 carbon atoms; 1 to 4 parts of a UV absorber; the total making 100 parts. The invention also relates to coextruded films consisting of this composition as the adhesive layer and a PVDF-based layer of 50 to 100 parts of PVDF per 50 to 0 parts of PMMA respectively. These films possess mechanical properties sufficient to allow them to be used as a coating transparent to visible light but opaque to UV radiation.

Composition coextrudable with PVDF and having no stress-whitening effect

The present invention relates to a process for grafting an unsaturated monomer onto a fluoropolymer, having the steps of: Structures made with these materials are barriers to many fluids and in particular to petrol and to air-conditioning fluids and may be formed into bottles, tanks, containers, pipes, hoses and vessels of all sorts. They may also be converted into films with which packaging is made.

The present invention relates to a microcomposite powder comprising particles from 1 um to 300 um of an electrically conductive product, which are coated with particles from 0.1 &mgr;m to 0.5 &mgr;m of a fluoropolymer. According to one advantageous form of the invention the microcomposite powder comprises a product (A) which is a polymer or an oligomer which can be dissolved with a solvent which is not a solvent for the fluoropolymer or for the electrically conductive product. The present invention also relates to objects consisting of this powder. These objects may be bipolar plates for fuel cells, or supercapacitor components.

The invention concerns a water-in-oil polymer emulsion containing in an organic and continuous phase practically non-miscible in water, finely comminuted water soluble polymers or capable of being swollen in water, a water-in-oil emulsifying agent and optionally wetting agents. The invention also concerns a method for preparing said emulsion. More particularly, it concerns a method for invert emulsion in the presence of one or several initiators belonging a specific family of azacarboxylic acid esters.

A composition coextrudable with PVDF comprises in parts by weight: 20 to 40 parts of PVDF; 40 to 60 parts of PMMA; 5 to 18 parts of an acrylic elastomer; 1 to 4 parts of a UV absorber; the total making 100 parts. Coextruded films comprise a layer of the above coextrudable composition directly attached to the latter; and a PVDF-based layer comprising, as main constituents, 50 to 100 parts of PVDF per 50 to 0 parts of PMMA respectively. The PVDF layer may be in the form of two layers: one placed against the coextrudable layer and comprising, as main constituents, 50 to 90 parts of PVDF per 50 to 10 parts of PMMA respectively; and the other (also called the outer layer) comprising, as main constituents, 75 to 100 parts of PVDF per 25 to 0 parts of PMMA respectively. The resultant products are generally applied to substrates, e.g. as protective films.
