A control device can be used to control a base station, a switch, and a gateway leading to an external network. The device may communicate with a connection server connecting to a cloud computer system and with virtual functions of a control plane of the core network as instantiated in the computer system. The device may manage a database identifying for at least one terminal at least one of the virtual functions allocated to that terminal and a database associating at least one of the virtual functions with an identifier and a state of that function, and update the databases on the basis of information received from the connection server and/or from the virtual functions. The device may use one and/or the other of the databases in order to set up and/or maintain a user plane for a terminal between the base station, the switch, and the interconnection gateway.

Device and method for controlling an IP network core

A method and apparatus are provided for activating a communication terminal situated in a wireless communication network including a plurality of access nodes. The method includes: receiving, by an access node of the communication network, termed an anchor access node, at least one datum to be transmitted to the communication terminal; identifying, by the anchor access node, at least one access node to which the communication terminal was previously attached, termed a last known access node, on the basis of the datum to be transmitted; and transmitting to the at least one last known access node at least one activation datum destined for at least one communication interface of the terminal, making it possible to activate the terminal.

A method is provided for allocating at least one access point to a mobile terminal in a cellular network formed by multiple cells each controlled by an access point, wherein the mobile terminals move about. The method includes the following steps: locating a mobile terminal inside a current cell; identifying, using the locating, a target cell with which the terminal is likely to be connected; transmitting in advance to the terminal a target context, comprising at least one identifier of the access point of the target cell; implementing a procedure for connecting said terminal to the access point of the target cell, based on predetermined cell modification criterion.

Method for allocating of at least one access point to a mobile terminal in a cellular network, corresponding terminal, mobile server and programs

A method is provided for handing off flows. The flow, having a flow identifier, is established between a terminal and a correspondent. The terminal has as many terminal identifiers as access interfaces to access networks of mutually different data technologies. A first execution entity converts a handoff execution order emanating from a decision entity into execution messages by taking into account a hierarchy of execution entities of a current network. After a handoff decision has been taken for a given pair of flow and terminal identifiers, the decision entity sends an execution order to the first execution entity. The first execution entity: selects a mobility protocol from the mobility protocols supported by the execution entities of the hierarchy associated with the current network; selects in the hierarchy at least one execution entity responsible for executing the mobility protocol; and sends to the selected execution entities respective execution messages.

Method for transferring a flow between heterogeneous access points

A method is provided for constructing at least one decision graph for managing at least one applicative stream assigned to a terminal and set up between the terminal and a correspondent via at least one communication network. The method includes a step of dynamically constructing at least one possible decision graph for the one applicative stream assigned to the terminal, itself including a step of exchanging at least one configuration message between at least two decision modules pertaining to a predetermined set of decision modules.

Management of applicative streams in mobile networks

A method is provided for transmission within a telecommunication system, which includes a plurality of terminals that can exchange data flows therebetween. The method includes at least: a step of comparing a maximum throughput value offered by an interface with a cumulative value of the throughputs of flows that are intended to pass through the interface; and a step of adjusting the throughput of a particular flow following transmission of an adjustment value to a flow-emitting entity, which is executed when the maximum value is less than the cumulative value. The method enables a given terminal to adjust the throughput of a flow even when the flow is generated by a remote terminal.

Method of managing an interface comprising means for controlling remote terminals

A method is provided for the transmission of data flows through multiple interfaces. The method includes: comparing a maximum throughput value offered by an interface with a cumulative value resulting from a sum of the throughputs attributed to the flows effectively travelling through the interface; and switching a flow to another interface when the maximum throughput value offered is less than the cumulative value. The method can be used to redirect data flows to an interface other than the current interface when a congestion is detected in the comparison step and to perform optimum dynamic management of the resources of different interfaces as a function of the operating conditions of the interfaces.

Method for the optimised management of resources in a terminal comprising multiple interfaces

This invention concerns a telecommunication system SYST including: a mobile transmitter/receiver ERM, a number of access points PAand PA, each capable of communicating with the mobile transmitter/receiver ERM situated in a coverage area ZAor ZAof the access point considered, and a communication network NWauthorizing communications between said access points. The system according to the invention includes at least one mobility manager GM capable of determining, based on operating conditions of the access points, with which access point the mobile transmitter/receiver ERM should establish a communication. In the system according to the invention, a change in access point may not be carried out at the sole initiative of a mobile transmitter/receiver ERM, but is, on the contrary, carried out after analysis of an environment specific to said mobile transmitter/receiver ERM by the mobility manager GM.
