The present invention relates to a multi-layer polypropylene film comprising: A base layer of polypropylene (); Optionally, a tie layer () comprising a blend of polypropylene and an sacrificial engineering thermoplastic; A top layer () comprising film having a structured surface with water contact angles (WCA) superior to 104.5°, preferentially superior to 110°, more preferentially uperior to 120°, more preferentially superior to 130°; Wherein the top layer comprises a blend 20 to 40 wt % of polypropylene and 60 to 80 wt % of said engineering thermoplastic and in which the engineering thermoplastic has been selectively etched in order to create the said structured surface.

A thermoplastic composition comprising: 0 to 50 weight percent of a polycarbonate; 10 to 50 weight percent of a polyester carbonate copolymer; 5 to 20 weight percent of a poly(ethylene terephthalate); 20 to 50 weight percent of a poly(butylene terephthalate); and optionally 5 to 30 weight percent of an impact modifier wherein weight percent is based on the combined amounts of polycarbonate, polyester carbonate copolymer, poly(ethylene terephthalate), poly(butylene terephthalate) and optional impact modifier.

Heat resistant, weatherable polyester&#x2014;polycarbonate composition

Polycarbonate blends with a combination of high thin wall flame retardance, CTI Class 2 tracking resistance, and good dimensional stability are disclosed. The blends are a combination of a polycarbonate polymer, a polycarbonate-polysiloxane copolymer, a copolymer of bisphenol-A and a phthalimidine, titanium dioxide, and a phosphorus-containing flame retardant. A thermoplastic polycarbonate composition includes, based on the total weight of the thermoplastic polycarbonate composition: 15 to less than 40 wt. % of a reinforcing mineral filler; and greater than 60 to 85 wt. % of a polymer component, including, based on the weight of the polymer component, 68 to 99.9 wt. % of an aromatic polycarbonate, 0.1 to 2 wt. % of a fluorinated polymer, optionally, 0.1 to 25 wt. % of an impact modifier; and optionally, 0.1 to 5 wt. % of an additive composition including an antioxidant, a mold release agent, and a stabilizer; wherein a molded sample of the thermoplastic polycarbonate composition has no drips when measured in accordance with NF P 92-505 at a thickness of 3.0 mm.

Flame retardant polycarbonate compositions, method of manufacture thereof, and articles therefrom

A composition comprising a blend of: from 1 to 99 weight percent of a polycarbonate comprising from 10 to 90 mole percent of one or more arylate carbonate units of the formula wherein each Ris independently a Chydrocarbon, halogen, or halogen-substituted Chydrocarbon, and u is 0 to 4; and from 10 to 90 mole percent of different carbonate units of the formula wherein at least 60% of the Rgroups are Caromatic groups, and from 1 to 99 weight percent of a polyester comprising units of the formula wherein T is a residue derived from a C-Ccycloaliphatic or C-Caromatic dicarboxylic acid or a chemical equivalent thereof, and D is a residue derived from a C-Caromatic or C-Caliphatic diol or a chemical equivalent thereof, provided that at least 50 mole percent of D is derived from 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol or a chemical equivalent thereof; and wherein the weight percent of the polycarbonate and the polyester are each based on the total weight of the polycarbonate and the polyester.

Polycarbonate-polyester blends, methods of manufacture, and methods of use

A flame retardant thermoplastic composition comprising in combination a polycarbonate component; an impact modifier composition, the components of the impact modifier composition comprising a) a bulk polymerized ABS, and b) an impact modifier different from the ABS; an ungrafted rigid copolymer; and a flame retardant. The compositions have an improved balance of physical properties such as impact strength and flow, while at the same time maintaining their good flame performance.
