The invention is directed to a process for the treatment of plastic material comprising a) providing a liquid; b) contacting the plastic material with the liquid; c) keeping the plastic material in the liquid at Tb&#x2212;25&#xb0; C. to Tb of the liquid, wherein Tb is the boiling point of the liquid at the applied pressure; and d) removing the plastic material from the liquid. Furthermore, the invention is directed to the use of a liquid for the treatment of plastic material and to a plant for treating plastic material with a liquid.

Removing volatile compounds from polymer pellets

A degassing apparatus for use with a polymerisation reactor is disclosed. Slurry from the reactor is discharged into a flask tank () in which monomers or dilluent vaporise to form a gas. Filler units () are provided at the upper part of the flash tank (). They may be selectively connected to the flash tank by valves (). No cyclone etc. is provided between the flash tank and the filter () and these particles may then fall back into the flash tank (). The filters may be separately isolated for cleaning or replacement.

Degassing apparatus

Rotational moulded products are prepared by producing a mixture of a polyolefin and optionally at least one additive, extruding this mixture in melt form through orifices in a die, pelletizing the mixture extruded through the orifices to form micropellets having a particle size distribution D(v, 0.5) of 0.1 to 1 mm, and a value of the ratio of D(v, 0.9)-D(v, 0.1) to D(v, 0.5) of no more than 1, drying the micropellets to a residual water content of no more than 1% weight, and if desired packaging the micropellets.

Method of producing pelletized polyolefin
