A method to skew or deskew a plurality of optical channels in a multichannel optical cable which includes the steps of determining an optical pulse transmission time in at least a first channel and a second channel of the multichannel optical cable. A relative pulse delay between the first channel and the second channel of the multi-channel optical cable is calculated. Delay optics with the appropriate relative pulse delay are serially optically connected to at least one of the channels to one of skew or deskew the first channel relative to the second channel.

Method to deskew parallel optical links

Multipath structures formed from coherent fiber bundle structures for interconnecting a number of opto-electronic devices in a compact space. The coherent fiber bundle structures are formed from fiber optic plates and have different geometries and fiber orientations in order to transmit optic signal between opto-electronic device in different locations.

Opto-electronic multi-chip modules using imaging fiber bundles

A method of producing an all glass, non-porous, multi-component photonic band-gap fiber is provided. The fiber is formed by creating a preform having a plurality of low refractive index glass rods and a plurality of high refractive index glass rods arranged in a pre-determined pattern between the low refractive index glass rods. The preform is heated and drawn to form the non-porous photonic band-gap fiber.

Multi-component all glass photonic band-gap fiber

A de-multiplexing system for optical signals including an optical fiber attached to an optical fiber taper is provided. Optical signals are transmitted through the optical fiber to the optical fiber taper. An etched diffraction grating located at the end of the optical fiber taper de-multiplexes optical signals. Bi-directional de-multiplexing can be accomplished by providing optical fiber tapers with etched diffraction gratings at both ends of the optical transmission fiber. A GRIN lens can be provided for focusing the de-multiplexed signals onto specific optical detectors.
