An intermediary support structure that includes a linear or rotational actuator to move the single display tile from a first position in a first plane along a predetermined path to a second position in the first plane. The first position is a loading position of the single display tile in the tiled display and the second position is a position in which the single display tile lies when installed in its operative position in the tiled display. When the single display tile is located in the first position, there is a distance between the loading position and the operative position, the linear or rotational actuator is configured so that the distance becomes smaller as the single display tile is moved along the predetermined path towards the second position. The linear or rotational actuator is accessible and remains accessible until an adjacent display tile is covering an access to the actuator.

Alignment mechanism and methods for installation of tiled displays

A system and method for providing an acoustically transparent imaging display include a substrate with light sources on one side and perforations having a first visible optical reflectance, the perforations extending perpendicularly to the display surface and being disposed between the light sources. The side of the substrate opposing the light sources faces a black surface of an enclosure. A layer having a second visible optical reflectance is disposed on the substrate on the side of the light sources. The layer has an acoustical transparency attenuation of at most −10 dB, and when in normal light conditions the difference between the visible optical reflectance of the layer and that of the perforations is lower than the difference between visible optical reflectance of the substrate and that of the perforation.

A positioning device and a fastening device to fix the relative position of two or more adjacent tiles on a tiled display and to provide alignment. Fixing the relative position of two adjacent display tiles will facilitate the alignment of tiles in tiled displays where the seam between tiles will be as regular as possible, thereby avoiding the introduction of misalignments and their associated visual artefacts. The positioning device allows linkage of it to at least two tiles of a tiled display. The display tiles are often rectangular in shape and the positioning device is then located at a corner of the tile. The positioning device can also be attached to a support structure to make a tiled display.

Method and device for shading in a display system

A tiled display () for lighting or imaging includes a plurality of display tiles () arranged side by side. The tiled display () furthermore includes a seam hiding arrangement () formed of at least one light absorbing cloth or textile () in a seam () between two neighboring display tiles (). A corresponding method for assembling or adjusting a tiled display is described. The seam hiding arrangement may be used for blocking environmental light or stray light in the seams and optionally also for aligning or controlling the position of the display tiles.

The present invention relates to a light emitting device assembly. Such a LED assembly comprises a plurality of lamp-type light emitting devices, each of said lamp-type light emitting devices having a light output side and side walls. The plurality of lamp-type light emitting devices are directly or indirectly connected to each other via said side walls. The latter allows to obtain a compact LED assembly with high brightness.

A shading device is described for use with a display system. The shading device includes a first component, typically a rigid component, and a second component. The second component at least partially covers the first component. The second component is a solid continuous film which has a lower reflectivity than the first component. In a particular embodiment, the second component is more elastic or flexible than the first component and/or has a hardness smaller than the first component, and is furthermore adapted such that it can provide a sealing contact with a plurality of light sources. The latter allows using the shading device also as a sealing arrangement for sealing electronics and other components of the display system from the ambient of the display system.
