A method of selecting interconnection products using a computer-based interconnection selection tool, the method comprising: (a) providing an image to a user, the image depicting multiple interconnections, each interconnection having a referenced interconnection level; (b) receiving a selected interconnection level of interest; (c) providing at least one interconnection prompt corresponding to a given interconnection level of interest; (d) receiving at least one response to the interconnection prompt; (e) providing interconnection options responsive to the at least one response; (f) receiving at least one product selection from the interconnection options and storing the product selection to a list; (g) optionally reiterating steps (c)-(g) until a prompt is provided in step (c) for each level of a group of interconnection levels or the user terminates the process; and (h) after step (g) or the user terminates the process, providing the list to the user.

System and method for selecting interconnects

An electrical connector assembly includes a housing having a base and contact towers extending forward from the base. The base has an outer perimeter defined between a front and a rear of the base, and the base has a latch extending forward from the base generally parallel to and spaced apart from the towers such that a gap is defined between a bottom of the latch and a top of the towers. Flanges extend upward from the top of the towers and at least partially block the gap. Contacts are held by the housing, where the contacts extend into the contact towers for mating with mating contacts of a mating connector.

Electrical connector assembly

A connector assembly for use with a compressible gasket includes a housing having a mating end and a cable end, the housing being configured to hold a contact. The connector assembly also includes a deflectable shroud extending from the housing rearward of the cable end to the compressible gasket. The shroud surrounds a hollow chamber that is configured to receive the compressible gasket. The shroud is deflectable between an expanded state and a collapsed state, wherein a volume of the hollow chamber is reduced when in the collapsed state as compared to the expanded state. The shroud compresses the gasket when in the collapsed state.
