Methods and systems for connecting a wireless communications device to a deployable wireless communications network. The method includes receiving, from the wireless communications device via a mobile management entity (MME) configured to operate as an extensible authentication protocol (EAP) authenticator, an extensible authentication protocol packet. The method further includes authenticating the wireless communications device based on the extensible authentication protocol packet. The method further includes establishing a first wireless connection between the wireless communications device and a deployable subscription bootstrapping service of the deployable wireless communications network. The method further includes generating a subscription profile for the wireless communications device, and communicating the subscription profile to the wireless communications device via the first wireless connection. The method further includes discontinuing the first wireless connection, and establishing a second wireless connection between the wireless communications device and the deployable wireless communications network using the subscription profile.

Methods and systems for connecting a wireless communications device to a deployable wireless communications network

Methods and apparatuses bind a user's IMS public identity to, and unbind it from, a mobile device (MD) shared among multiple users. In binding the user's IMS public identity, a message is received from the MD, which message comprises a shared service authorization access token that is associated with a shared service and that comprises an identifier of a user of the MD. The message further comprises a default public identity of the MD. Based on the user identifier and the default public identity, the user is determined to be authorized to use the MD for the shared service. In response to the determination, a public identity of the user is obtained and mapped to the MD to bind a private identity and a public identity of the MD and the public identity of the user, and a user subscription database is instructed to update the user's service subscription information.

Method and apparatus for binding of a user-based public identity to a shared device in an internet protocol multimedia subsystem (IMS)-based communication system

A set of different communication flows (-) can be established between a set of end-user devices () and remote devices () through an intermediary node (). For each communication flow (-), a flow-specific bearer () can be generated between the intermediary node () and a corresponding one of the remote devices (). Each bearer () can have quality of service attributes that correspond to flow-specific quality of service attributes of the flow (-) to which the flow-specific bearer () corresponds. Preserving user-differentiated quality of service for mobile virtual private network communications made using a shared connection point

One determines () that a given wireless mobile two-way communications platform is updating its network location (using, for example, an 802.16()-compatible protocol) at a time when there is no downlink traffic to provide to the platform and at a time when the platform should conduct at least one of an authenticator relocation process and an Internet Protocol address renewal process. In response to such determinations, one then automatically provides () to the platform, as part of updating the network location for the platform, an indication (such as, for example, a downlink traffic pending (DTP) flag) that the platform has pending downlink traffic notwithstanding that there is, in fact, no downlink traffic to provide to the wireless mobile two-way communications platform. Subsequent to this, one can then automatically cause () the platform to effect at least one of the authenticator relocation process and the Internet Protocol address renewal process.

Method and apparatus to facilitate network processes

A communication system sets a media session between a first media gateway and a second gateway through a media gateway controller. The first media gateway receives a control address of the second media gateway from the media gateway controller. The first media gateway allocates media processor resources from a pool of media processor resources at the first media gateway and communicates transport information associated with the allocated media processor resources to the second media gateway. The first media gateway also receives transport information associated with allocated media processor resources of the second media gateway. The media session is then set up between the first media gateway and the second media gateway, using the allocated media processor resources of the media gateway and the allocated media processor resources of the second media gateway.
