A low energy consumption monochrome toner includes a surface additive package having a high charging silica compound, an aerating silica compound, a colloidal silica compound, a polymeric spacer, and a crosslinked spacer. The low energy consumption monochrome toner is suitable for high speed printing in SCD systems while decreasing minimum fusing temperature, maintaining excellent hot offset and storage, and exhibiting a matte finish.

Provided herein is a method of remanufacturing a toner cartridge for use in a xerographic process, as well as a toner cartridge remanufactured by the disclosed method. According to one exemplary embodiment, the remanufacturing method includes electrically connecting a resistor of a predetermined resistance between a toner supply roll contact and a development roll contact, the resistor modifying the electric field between the toner supply roll and development roll, where the remanufactured toner cartridge includes toner of triboelectric charge properties different from the original toner.

A process for the preparation of toner comprising blending an aqueous colorant dispersion and a latex resin emulsion, and which latex resin is generated from a dimeric acrylic acid, an oligomer acrylic acid, or mixtures thereof and a monomer; heating the resulting mixture at a temperature about equal, or below about the glass transition temperature (Tg) of the latex resin to form aggregates; heating the resulting aggregates at a temperature about equal to, or above about the Tg of the latex resin to effect coalescence and fusing of the aggregates; and optionally isolating the toner product, washing, and drying.
