A three-compartment water-soluble capsule, each compartment containing a part of a liquid detergent composition, the compartments being arranged side-by-side to provide a central compartment flanked on respective sides by a first and a second side compartment, the capsule being formed from two sheets of water-soluble film, the two sheets of film being sealed together to form a sealing web around each compartment, the sealing web lying in a sealing plane, each of the three compartments extending at a maximum the same distance above and below the sealing plane, wherein the sealing web comprises an annular sealing web defining the periphery of the capsule, and two internal sealing webs which each extend across the capsule, each internal sealing web serving to connect the central compartment with an adjacent side compartment and to separate their contents, wherein each internal sealing web has a continuously curved shape.

Multi-compartment water-soluble capsules

An aqueous fabric conditioning composition comprises a solid particulate material, perfume and an oil. Preferably the composition is in the form of an emulsion. A method of treating fabrics comprising contacting the fabric conditioning composition with fabrics during a laundry treatment process. The solid particulate material and the perfume in the fabric conditioning composition are used to stabilize the oil.

Fabric conditioning compositions

Fabric softening compositions with 1-10% by weight of cationic fabric softening compound show a surprising increase in viscosity when a fatty acid partial ester of a polyhydric alcohol at a level greater than 0.01% by weight and less than or equal to 0.45% by weight based on the composition is added and if the resulting mixture is sheared at a temperature below the phase transition temperature of the fabric softener composition. As a result, viscosities in the range 35-500 mPa&#xb7;s at 106 scan be obtained in a surprising manner.

Fabric conditioning composition

An aqueous, liquid fabric conditioning composition and a method for making such a composition are provided where the composition comprises a quaternary ammonium cationic softening compound and a non-ionic surfactant, where the composition comprises an emulsion in which 80% or more by weight of the droplets in the emulsion have a mean diameter of from 0.4 to 60 microns, as measured using a Malvern particle size analyser with a 45 mm lens for D[0,1] measurements and both a 45 mm and a 1000 mm lens for D[0,9] measurements. Use of a nonionic surfactant to improve the dispersibility in water of an aqueous, liquid fabric conditioning composition is also provided.
