For an augmented reality (AR) content creation system having a marker database, when a user requests this system to use a first sub-image of an image to update the marker database, this system computes a suitability score of the first sub-image for rating feature richness of the first sub-image and uniqueness thereof against existing markers in the marker database. When the suitability score is less than a threshold value, a second sub-image of the image having a suitability score not less than the threshold value and completely containing the first sub-image is searched. Then the second sub-image, the suitability score thereof and the suitability score of the first sub-image are substantially-immediately presented to the user for real-time suggesting the user to use the second sub-image instead of the first sub-image as a new marker in updating the marker database to increase feature richness or uniqueness of the new marker.

A method for delivering distance education for real clients, each either a teacher client or a student client, at multiple teaching sites and a system using the method are provided. A multi-layer arrangement is used to arrange computing servers to be one first-level server and one or more second-level servers each communicable with the first-level server. Furthermore, each server sets up a virtual client to execute the teacher client's activity command so as to locally generate application-specific data, which are then stored in this server. A process of controlling a flow of data in a wireless network providing wireless access to the wireless network by wireless devices is disclosed. Data is received from a wireless device by a network device, through one access point of a plurality of access points in communication with the network device, indicating a client identifier for the wireless device. The client identifier is forwarded to an authentication server and the network device mediated authentication of the wireless device with the authentication server. Thereafter, data packets received from portions of the wireless network and from the plurality of access points are evaluated and the received data packets are passed to portions of the wireless network and to the plurality of access points, based on the evaluation of the received data packets. In addition, the network device periodically polls for a status of the wireless device from the access point.

At least one filtering table in communication with the fast filtering processor is provided, wherein the fast filtering processor is configured to snoop packets being transmitted through the network switch to trap a VOIP call setup message, and thereafter, determine a dynamically negotiated VOIP port so that all subsequent VOIP packets can be filtered and assigned an appropriate priority.

Apparatus and method for enabling Voice Over IP support for a network switch

A data switch for network communications includes a data port interface which supports at least one data port which transmits and receives data. The switch also includes a CPU interface, where the CPU interface is configured to communicate with a CPU, and a memory management unit, including a memory interface for communicating data from the data port interface to the switch memory. A communication channel is also provided, communicating data and messaging information between the data port interface, the CPU interface, the switch memory, and the memory management unit. The data port interface also includes an access control unit that filters the data coming into the data port interface and takes selective action on the data by applying a set of filter rules such that access to the switch is controlled by the set of filter rules.
