Techniques are provided for radio frequency (RF) sensing using a single wireless device. An example method for determining a distance to an object with radio frequency sensing includes transmitting a radio frequency signal with a transmit channel on a wireless device, receiving a leakage signal with a receive channel on the wireless device at a first time, such that the leakage signal is based on the radio frequency signal, receiving a reflected signal with the receive channel on the wireless device at a second time, such that the reflected signal is based on the radio frequency signal reflecting from the object, and determining the distance to the object based at least in part on a difference between the first time and the second time.

Radio frequency sensing using a single device based on concurrent transmit and receive

In an aspect, a wireless device is configured to transmit a physical layer protocol data unit on one or more channels, wherein the physical layer protocol data unit includes a first portion and a second portion. The first portion includes a signal length field indicating a duration of a transmission of the physical layer protocol data unit. The second portion includes a plurality of Wi-Fi sensing fields. The wireless device is configured to receive a reflected signal and a leakage signal associated with the physical layer protocol data unit. The reflected signal includes the physical layer protocol data unit reflected off of a target object. The leakage signal is associated with the physical layer protocol data unit.

Physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU) format for Wi-Fi sensing

This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for determining unavailable spatial streams in uplink multiuser (MU) multiple-in multiple-out (MIMO) communication. In one example, a device transmits, to wireless stations including a first wireless station, a trigger frame configured to elicit a joint transmission, to the device, of a MU packet over spatial streams respectively associated with the wireless stations. The device receives the MU packet over the spatial streams, where each spatial stream of the spatial streams is received by receive chains of the device. The device performs a channel estimation associated with each spatial stream of the spatial streams using each receive chain of the receive chains. The device determines that at least one spatial stream associated with the first wireless station is unavailable based on the channel estimation. The device processes the MU packet from the plurality of spatial streams without the at least one spatial stream.

Processing multiuser multiple-input multiple-output communications having unavailable spatial streams

Systems and methods are directed to configuring antenna systems. An antenna system may be coupled to a first communication unit and may be responsive to another communication unit. The first communication unit may alter its antenna system to accommodate various attributes of both units. The first communication unit may have a plurality of antennae which may be configured to be driven actively, deactivated completely, or tuned and driven in a parasitic mode. By configuring the antenna system, the range of the antenna system may be increased, the power to drive the antenna system may be decreased, and other various attributes of the communication system may be accommodated.

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for communicating channel selection constraints in a network having multiple access points (APs). In one aspect, a root AP may assist with channel selection (assignment) for the multiple APs. A first AP can provide channel operating constraints to the root AP to indicate one or more operating constraints for a particular channel that may be used by the first AP. The operating constraints may be based, at least in part, on a hardware characteristic of the first AP. For example, an operating constraint may indicate a minimum channel separation or a maximum transmit power to consider when the particular channel is used concurrently with another channel. In another aspect, the first AP can communicate a channel selection error and error code when a particular channel cannot be used due to an operating constraint.

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for configuring components of transmission circuitry. In one aspect, a first set of linear kernels and a first set of nonlinear kernels associated with a composite digital pre-distortion (DPD) kernel design is determined based on a first iteration of a DPD kernel analysis process. The first set of linear kernels is separated from the first set of nonlinear kernels according to a first iteration of a linear filter separation process. A final set of linear kernels and a final set of nonlinear kernels are determined based on one or more additional iterations of the DPD kernel analysis process and the linear filter separation process. A pre-DPD filter for the transmission circuitry is configured using a final set of filter coefficients derived based on the final set of linear kernels.

Linear filter separation for digital pre-distortion (DPD) in wireless communication apparatus

A method and apparatus are disclosed for searching for a radar signal within signals received by a wireless device. The wireless device may receive signals within a first frequency segment and a second frequency segment, which is adjacent to the first frequency segment. The wireless device may search for the radar signal within the first frequency segment or the second frequency segment based, at least in part, on Fast Fourier Transform bins associated with the received signals.
