Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may select one or more sub-bands, of a plurality of sub-bands in a wideband structure of an unlicensed spectrum, for processing in association with receiving a reference signal. The one or more sub-bands may include at least one valid sub-band of a set of valid sub-bands in which the reference signal is received. The user equipment may process the one or more sub-bands in association with receiving the reference signal. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment may receive a first control message associated with a first, periodic resource grant and including a first resource allocation field associated with a first subcarrier spacing. The user equipment may receive a second control message that includes the first resource allocation field at a first value. The user equipment may deactivate the first resource grant based on the first value and the first subcarrier spacing. The user equipment may receive a third control message associated with a second, periodic resource grant and including a second resource allocation field associated with a second subcarrier spacing. The user equipment may receive a fourth control message that includes a second resource allocation field at a second value different from the first value. The user equipment may deactivate the second resource grant based on the second value and the second subcarrier spacing.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide improved techniques for monitoring a downlink control channel. For example, a method includes switching, at a first time period, to monitoring a downlink control channel according to a second group of search space sets in an unlicensed spectrum. The method further includes switching, after the first time period, to monitoring the downlink control channel according to a first group of search space sets in the unlicensed spectrum based on at least one of: i) expiration of a timer started based on the switching to monitoring the downlink control channel according to the second group of search space sets; or (ii) end of a channel occupancy time (COT), of a serving cell, during which the UE monitors the downlink control channel according to the second group of search space sets.

Aspects described herein relate to receiving multiple synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) from a cell over a measurement time window, identifying, for each SSB in a subset of the multiple SSBs, a repeating beam index, where the identifying, for each SSB, the repeating beam index is based at least in part on a repeat parameter indicating a number of beams in a SSB pattern for the cell, and associating two or more SSBs of the subset of the multiple SSBs having the same repeating beam index as having a same measurement.

Techniques for measuring synchronization signal blocks in wireless communications

Wireless communications systems and methods related to communicating a structure of a channel occupancy time (COT) are provided. A first wireless communication device communicates with a second wireless communication device, a first indicator indicating at least one of a subband configuration for a COT or a duration of the COT. The first wireless communication device communicates with the second wireless communication device during the COT, a first communication signal based on at least one of the subband configuration for the COT or the duration of the COT. The first wireless communication device communicates with the second wireless communication device during the COT, a second indicator indicating an update for at least one of the subband configuration for the COT or the duration of the COT. Additionally, the first wireless communication device communicates with the second wireless communication device during the COT, a second communication signal based on the update.

Channel occupancy time (COT)-structure indication

Enhancements to downlink feedback information (DFI) signaling is disclosed. According to the disclosed aspects, indications of DFI presence in downlink control information (DCI) messaging are provided that limit any increase to DCI overhead for uplink grants. In a first aspect, DFI presence may be signaled using unused or disallowed DCI variable states for indication of DFI presence. In another aspect, a separate bit may be added to a DCI message for indicating DFI presence. Additional aspects include repurposing DCI fields which are specific to cell radio network temporary identifier (C-RNTI)-based uplink grants, or may defining a new RNTI (e.g., DFI-RNTI) for indicating DFI presence. Further aspects may provide for radio resource control (RRC) signaling that configures which DCI variable state can be used to indicate DFI presence.

Downlink feedback information signaling enhancements

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for improving communications between a user equipment (UE) and a base station in a shared radio frequency spectrum while the UE is operating in a discontinuous reception (DRX) mode. In particular, the UE may be configured to adapt operation in a DRX mode based on whether a base station has access to a shared radio frequency spectrum. For example, the UE may adjust a length of an on-duration for monitoring for a data transmission from the base station, adjust a periodicity for monitoring for control information from the base station, determine whether to keep monitoring for wake-up signaling from the base station, etc. based on whether the base station has access to the shared radio frequency spectrum. Further techniques for improving operation in a DRX mode are also described.

CDRX wakeup signal for unlicensed spectrum

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) and a base station may communicate in an unlicensed spectrum (e.g., a shared radio frequency spectrum band). As such, the UE may determine a codebook size for transmitting hybrid access request (HARQ) acknowledgement (ACK) feedback with respect to the unlicensed spectrum. Accordingly, the UE may base the HARQ ACK codebook size on a number of HARQ processes with which the UE has been configured. Additionally or alternatively, the UE may base the HARQ ACK codebook size on a number and/or duration of downlink channel monitoring occasions indicated by the base station. In some cases, the UE may base the HARQ ACK codebook size on a combination of the techniques described herein.

Acknowledgement feedback in unlicensed new radio

Hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) acknowledgement (ACK) feedback enhancements are disclosed for new radio (NR) unlicensed (NR-U). In the downlink control channel, two sets of identifiers (IDs) may be explicitly or implicitly signaled. The two IDs identify a current set ID and an additional set ID. Where the two IDs match, then the ACK feedback transmitted in the current ACK message will reflect the current transmissions. Otherwise, where the two IDs are different, the additional set ID identifies any previous or different ACK information that should be transmitted for prior transmissions.

Hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgement feedback enhancements for new radio-unlicensed

Random access channel access and validity procedures are disclosed. In one aspect, the medium access control (MAC) indications multiple random access occasions (ROs) to user equipments (UEs) for random access transmissions. In such aspect, random access failure would only be declared if listen before talk (LBT) procedures for the random access transmission fail on all of the ROs indicated by the MAC layer. Similarly, in additional aspects, a UE will not apply a backoff value for any LBT failures for random access attempts that occur within an LBT time window. In further aspects, a UE may determine the validity of ROs that overlap with a discovery reference signal measurement timing configuration (DMTC) window. In such aspects, the UE may not use overlapping ROs or may determine a portion of the DMTC window that is not used for base station transmissions and declare the overlapping ROs with the unused portion valid.

Random access channel access and validity procedures

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that enable efficient group-based acknowledgment feedback reporting. Techniques are provided for feedback for a number of different downlink transmissions to be reported by a user equipment (UE) using transport block level feedback, code block group level feedback, or combinations thereof. Acknowledgment feedback may be provided in one or more group-based or enhanced dynamic feedback reports, a one-shot feedback report, or any combinations thereof.

Acknowledgment feedback techniques in wireless communications

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that support group-based acknowledgment feedback techniques. Two or more different groups of downlink transmissions may each have an associated group-based acknowledgment feedback, and a base station may transmit downlink control information to a UE that indicates one or more parameters that are used to determine which downlink transmissions are to be reported in the group-based feedback. Based on the parameters in the downlink control information, the UE may determine the feedback to be reported, and a timing for when to transmit the feedback to the base station.

Group-based acknowledgment feedback techniques for wireless communications

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for a user equipment (UE), operating in a shared spectrum in a connected state or an idle state, to receive a channel occupancy time structure information (COT-SI) which includes one or more of a COT duration, a COT end symbol, and a COT pause indication, in addition to slot format indication for one or more slots. Some aspects described herein define a hierarchical approach to COT structure information (COT-SI) signaling. For example, a UE may be configured with a set of short COT tables using remaining minimum system information (RMSI) signaling and may receive concatenation of COT-SI signaling identifying index values in a control channel corresponding to one or more of the set of COT tables. Based on receiving COT-SI signaling, the UE may communicate in accordance with an occurrence of a COT.

Channel occupancy time (COT) structure indication

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses for the identification of a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) resource. In some aspects, a UE that receives the CSI-RS may determine CSI feedback based at least in part on the CSI-RS after detecting the CSI-RS resource that includes the CSI-RS. Signaling or techniques for when no CSI-RS is detected (such as when the base station fails a channel access operation for all available CSI-RS resources) are also provided. Furthermore, approaches for rate matching for a shared channel around CSI-RS resources or for CSI interference management (CSI-IM) resources are provided, as well as CSI reporting approaches for cases when the UE fails to transmit CSI feedback due to a failed channel access operation, such as a triggered or re-triggered CSI report.

Channel state information (CSI) for unlicensed spectrum

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may indicate support of an extended cyclic prefix (ECP), where a duration of the ECP or transmitting the ECP is based on the indication. In some cases, the UE may receive an uplink grant to transmit an uplink message with an indication of the ECP, and the UE may transmit the ECP and uplink message according to a timeline based in part on the ECP. Additionally or alternatively, an uplink channel allocation indicated in the uplink grant may include a starting point for the ECP, where the UE transmits the ECP at the starting point. In some cases, the UE may multiplex uplink control information (UCI) in the uplink channel based on a timeline that is based in part on the ECP.
