Three-dimensional X-ray baggage scanner

An explosive detection system for detecting explosive trace in a sample includes a detection unit, and a processing unit. The detection unit that receives a desorbed sample includes a first heater, a second heater, a first resistance temperature detector (RTD), a second RTD, and an amplifier. The first heater is exposed to the desorbed sample. The first heater and the second heater are supplied with specific voltage for three or more experiments. The first RTD and the second RTD measure changes in resistance due to heating of the first heater and the second heater to calculate voltages across the first RTD and the second RTD. The amplifier amplifies the voltages to calculate a differential voltage for each of the three or more experiments, and converts the differential voltage into a digital signal. The processing unit is configured to process the digital signal to detect explosive trace in the desorbed sample.

System and method of detecting explosive compounds based on rapid deflagration and differential micro-calorimetry

An under vehicle scanning system that detects a dissimilar object in a vehicle is provided. The under vehicle scanning system includes a scanner and acquisition module that captures 3D images of an undercarriage of the vehicle at multiple instants, an analysis and processing module that processes the 3D images to obtain 3D profiles of the vehicle, and a display module that highlights the dissimilar object. The analysis and processing module is configured to: (a) normalize variations in orientation of the 3D profiles of the vehicle's undercarriage, (b) generate a 3D signature of the vehicle based on the normalized 3D profiles of the vehicle's undercarriage, (c) identify a model of the vehicle based on the 3D signature of the vehicle, and (d) compare the 3D profiles of the vehicle with a standard profile of the undercarriage of a same model vehicle using the 3D signature to detect the dissimilar object.

System and method for detecting a dissimilar object in undercarriage of a vehicle

An asymmetric immobilization process that immobilizes a one or more receptor biomolecules on one or more solid surfaces is provided. The asymmetric immobilization process includes the following steps: (i) activating the one or more solid surfaces using an oxidizing agent; (ii) treating the one or more solid surfaces with aminosilane to obtain a one or more amine functionalized solid surfaces; (iii) treating the one or more receptor biomolecules with a 1-Ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)carbodiimide (EDC) to obtain a one or more site-specific EDC activated receptor biomolecules; and (iv) immobilizing the one or more site-specific EDC activated receptor biomolecules on a first layer of the one or more amine functionalized solid surfaces, wherein the immobilizing comprises treating the one or more site-specific EDC activated receptor biomolecules with amine groups of the first layer of the one or more amine functionalized solid surfaces to form a covalent amide bond.
