A communication apparatus includes: an antenna module provided with an antenna element having a flat plate shape; a housing that accommodates the antenna module; a heat dissipation plate; and an electrode. The heat dissipation plate is disposed between the housing and the antenna module, and provided with an opening that faces the antenna element. The electrode faces the antenna element in a direction normal to the antenna element and on a side of the first radiating element that radiates the radio wave.

Communication apparatus

An antenna module includes a dielectric substrate, radiating circuits disposed on the dielectric substrate, a ground electrode, and a dielectric layer. In a plan view in a direction of a normal line of the dielectric substrate, the radiating circuit is disposed adjacent to the radiating circuit. The ground electrode is disposed to face the radiating circuit and the radiating circuit. The dielectric layer is disposed to cover the radiating circuit. The radiating circuit is capable of emitting an electric wave in a frequency band higher than that for the radiating circuit. A dielectric constant of the dielectric layer is higher than a dielectric constant of the dielectric substrate. A distance between the radiating circuit and the ground electrode is shorter than a distance between the radiating circuit and the ground electrode.

Antenna module and communication apparatus equipped with the same

An antenna element includes an insulative substrate including first and second main surfaces arranged in an up-down direction. At least one antenna conductor layer is provided on the first main surface of the insulative substrate. At least one insulative substrate non-forming region is provided between the insulative substrate and the antenna conductor layer in the up-down direction. An insulator layer does not exist in the at least one insulative substrate non-forming region. When seen in the up-down direction, all of an outer boundary of at least one antenna conductor overlaps the at least one insulative substrate non-forming region and is not in contact with the insulative substrate. At least one of the at least one insulative substrate non-forming region includes a void.

Antenna element and electronic device

An antenna element includes a first opening including an annular outer boundary in an antenna conductor layer. A first insulative substrate non-forming region is provided between an insulative substrate and the antenna conductor layer in an up-down direction. The insulative substrate does not exist in the first insulative substrate non-forming region. The outer boundary of the first opening overlaps one or more first insulative substrate non-forming regions and is not in contact with the insulative substrate. The first insulative substrate non-forming region is a first void, and a low dielectric constant material having a lower dielectric constant than that of a material of the insulative substrate or a high dielectric constant material having a higher dielectric constant than that of the material of the insulative substrate is provided in the first insulative substrate non-forming region.

Antenna element, electronic device, and method for manufacturing antenna element

An antenna module includes a dielectric substrate that has an upper surface and a lower surface; radiating elements that have a flat-plate shape; and dielectric layers. The radiating elements are arranged in the dielectric substrate and can radiate respective radio waves in mutually-different frequency bands. The dielectric layer is arranged in a manner to cover a first region in which the radiating element is arranged. The dielectric layer is arranged in a manner to cover a second region in which the radiating element is arranged. Dielectric constants of the dielectric layers are higher than a dielectric constant of the dielectric substrate. The first region and the second region are adjacent to each other. The radiating element overlaps with the radiating element or the radiating element in plan view in a normal direction of the dielectric.

Antenna module and communication device mounted with same

An antenna module includes a dielectric substrate, in or on which a feed element is formed, a dielectric substrate, in which a ground electrode (GND) is formed, and conductive members. The dielectric substrate is disposed opposite the dielectric substrate. When viewed in plan in the direction normal to the feed element, the conductive members are disposed around the feed element. An air layer is formed between the dielectric substrate and the dielectric substrate. The conductive members are formed in the air layer.

Antenna module and communication device including the same

An antenna module includes feed elements each having a flat plate shape and a ground electrode arranged opposite the feed elements. The feed element radiates a radio wave of a first frequency band. The feed element radiates a radio wave of a second frequency band that is higher than the first frequency band. In a plan view of the feed element, the distance from the center of the feed element to an end portion of the ground electrode in a first direction is shorter than or equal to ½ of a free space wavelength of a radio wave radiated from the feed element. A feed point of the feed element is arranged at a location shifted in a second direction from the center of the feed element, and the second direction is different from the first direction.

Antenna module and communication device incorporating the same

An antenna module includes a dielectric substrate having a multilayer structure, a power supply element and a ground electrode (GND) disposed in or on the dielectric substrate, a parasitic element, a power supply wiring line, and first and second stubs to be connected to the power supply wiring line. The parasitic element is disposed in a layer between the power supply element and the ground electrode (GND). The power supply wiring line passes through the parasitic element and supplies radio frequency power to the power supply element. The first stub is connected to a position different from a connection position of the second stub in the power supply wiring line.

An antenna module includes radiating elements that radiate radio waves in a first polarization direction, and a feed conductor that supplies a common radio-frequency signal to the radiating elements. A first radiating element and a second radiating element are disposed adjacent to each other. The feed conductor includes a common conductor, and conductors branching off from the common conductor. The conductors are respectively coupled to the radiating elements. Frequency characteristics of an impedance of the radiating element are different from frequency characteristics of an impedance of the radiating element. Under another condition of a frequency band in which a return loss is less than or equal to a predetermined value is defined as an operable band width in each of the radiating elements, the operable band width of the radiating element partially overlaps the operable band width of the radiating element.

Antenna module and communication device equipped with the same

An antenna module includes a base member, an antenna that includes a radiating element disposed in or on the base member, first and second feed lines each of which is connected to the radiating element, and a control circuit that is connected to the radiating element via the first feed line and the second feed line. The control circuit includes a signal processing circuit that is connected to the antenna via the first feed line and the second feed line and an antenna inspection circuit that checks an electrical conductivity of an electrical conduction path connecting the first feed line, the radiating element, and the second feed line to one another.

Antenna module and method for inspecting antenna module

The antenna device includes multiple first radiation plates and multiple second radiation plates. Each of the first radiation plates has a first feed point and a first ground end portion, and radiates a first radio wave. Each of the second radiation plates has a second feed point and a second ground end portion, and radiates a radio wave of a frequency different from the frequency of the first, radio wave. When the antenna device is viewed in a direction orthogonal to the polarization direction of the first radio wave, the first radiation plate and the second radiation plate are disposed so as not to overlap.

Antenna device, antenna module, and communication device

An antenna device includes a ground electrode, a feed element, and a parasitic element. The ground electrode has a substantially non-square rectangular plane shape that includes a first side extending in a first direction and a second side extending in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction. The feed element has a substantially rectangular plane shape and is formed in such a way that each side of the feed element becomes parallel to the first direction or the second direction. The parasitic element is formed in such a manner as to face a side of the feed element parallel to the first side. The feed element is configured to radiate a first polarized wave that excites in the first direction and a second polarized wave that excites in the second direction. The length of the first side is longer than the length of the second side.

Antenna device

An antenna module includes a plurality of sub-arrays arranged in an array. A first sub-array and a second sub-array are disposed adjacent to each other in a first direction. The first sub-array includes a first radiating element and a second radiating element disposed adjacent to each other in a second direction. The second sub-array also includes first and second radiating elements disposed adjacent to each other in the second direction. The second direction is a direction in which the first radiating element of the second sub-array is viewed from the first radiating element of the first sub-array and is a direction in which the second radiating element of the first sub-array and the second radiating element of the second sub-array are viewed. An angle ϕ formed between the first direction and the second direction is larger than 0° and smaller than 90°.

The present disclosure reduces a loss of strength of a radio-frequency signal radiated from an antenna module covered with a housing. An antenna module () includes a dielectric substrate (), a driven element (), and a ground conductor (). The dielectric substrate () has a multilayer structure. The driven element () is disposed in or on the dielectric substrate (). The ground conductor () is disposed between the driven element () and a mounting surface () on which a power supply circuit is mountable. The power supply circuit supplies the driven element () with radio-frequency power. The dielectric substrate has at least one groove (). The at least one groove () is separate from the driven element () when the antenna module () is viewed in plan. The at least one groove () extends toward the ground conductor () from a layer on which the driven element () is disposed.

Antenna module and communication device

An antenna module includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a connection member connected between the first substrate and the second substrate, and an FEM disposed on the connection member. A radiating element is disposed on the first substrate. An RFIC for supplying a radio frequency signal to the radiating element is disposed on the second substrate. The connection member transmits radio frequency signals between the RFIC and the radiating element. The FEM amplifies radio frequency signals transmitted between the RFIC and the radiating element. The FEM is disposed at a position between a connecting point with the first substrate and a connecting point with the second substrate on the connection member.
