An antenna connector comprises a first housing for housing an end of a coaxial cable, first and second contact to be connected to a core wire and a shield wire, respectively, of the coaxial cable housed in the first housing, a second housing for housing the first housing, and a pair of conductive feeding metal plates. The feeding metal plates are arranged on and secured to a conductive antenna pattern formed on an insulative substrate and each of them has a first holder for receiving and holding the second housing and a second holder for receiving and holding the first and second contacts. When the first housing is housed in the second housing, the first and second contacts are engaged with and held by the second holder to plugably connect the coaxial cable to the antenna without disturbing an impedance matching and with a sufficient mechanical strength.

Antenna Connector

An inductance element is arranged to parallel resonate with a ground stray capacitance component of an antenna element on a motor vehicle and a feeder cable to a receiver. Matching means is provided to compensate for a Q-factor of the parallel resonance for improving a reception gain over a wide range in a reception band.

Reception system for a motor vehicle

A glass window antenna for use in a motor vehicle provides satisfactory antenna characteristics while making best use of the space of a glass window with a heating conductor as the main antenna element which is heated by a pair of power supply lines through choke coils. In a preferred embodiment, a capacitor is connected across the power supply lines at a position between the choke coils and the heating conductor to minimize the loss or leakage of radio signals from the heating conductor through the choke coils. A symmetrical pair of wires coupled with each other is formed on the glass window and connected to ends of the heating conductor to improve a radio wave reception gain.

Glass window antenna for use in a motor vehicle

A vehicle window glass is provided with an antenna to be fit in a window frame of a vehicle such as an automobile. The antenna comprises a plurality of antenna elements which are disposed on a portion of the glass extending generally alongside the window frame. Thus, the antenna elements are spaced from the window frame at a reference or ground potential and preferably close to the sides of the frame. The antenna elements are each designed to have a different length from one another so that they can receive radio waves covering a relatively broad frequency band with a relatively high sensitivity.

Vehicle window antenna

The disclosure is directed to a vehicle window equipped with a radio antenna as well as a heating defroster. A laminated window glass is employed advantageously which comprises inner and outer plates of glass facing respectively the interior and exterior of the vehicle. The heating structure is mounted on a first surface of the laminated glass. At least part of the antenna elements is formed on a second surface which is different from the first surface supporting the heater elements. The antenna bearing surface and/or heater bearing surface may be any surface of the laminated glass; the outer surface of the outer glass plate should be excluded from the supporting surface, however, because such surface is exposed to the exterior of the vehicle. Therefore, a relatively large area is always available for the antenna structure irrespective of the size of the window. It becomes more flexible and easier to make the design of antenna having the desired characteristics.

Vehicle window antenna with antenna elements on two surfaces

An antenna element conductor is formed on a transparent insulating film. An adhesive is applied to the rear surface of the film. A connector is provided to a feeder terminal. A print antenna comprising the film and the antenna conductor can be attached to a glass surface, and a position of the antenna on the window glass can be desirably selected so as to obtain good antenna characteristics.

Antenna apparatus for a vehicle

An antenna element is mounted on a glass of a rear quarter window of a vehicle along the edge thereof. A coupling element is provided midway along said antenna element for coupling between two segmented elements with phase adjustment between reception signals thereof in a specific frequency range. The coupling element connects the two segmented elements in lower frequency range, and disconnects the two elements in higher frequency range. The length of the antenna element is automatically corrected in respective low and high frequency ranges so as to cover a wide range.

Window antenna for a vehicle

Windshield glass for a vehicle is disclosed including heating conductive wires for defogging and antenna wires for receiving a radio wave. The reception signal of the antenna is derived from an output at the center of the windshield glass and is led out through a lead wire to a feeding point positioned at a side portion of the windshield glass. A pair of auxiliary elements extends over a whole length of upper and lower sides of the lead wire. The auxiliary elements are connected to one of a pair of power supply buses of the heating conductive wires for removing influence of the lead wire on reception characteristics of the antenna.

A pair of antenna elements are mounted on a glass of a rear quarter window of a vehicle. Feed points of these elements are provided at a corner portion of the window. One antenna element extends clockwise about the center of the window glass and the other antenna element extends counterclockwise thereabout from their corresponding feed points. The characteristics of both antenna elements significantly differ and complement each other. It is convenient for a diversity reception system. An auxiliary element branches from one antenna element to extend along the other antenna element. The auxiliary element compensates for impedance characteristics of the antenna elements to tune up reception characteristics thereof.

Window antenna for a vehicle with dual feed points

An apparatus for bending a glass sheet has at least a lower mold, a conveyor device for conveying the heated glass sheet to a prescribed position over the lower mold, and a plurality of rolls for supporting the glass sheet in the prescribed position. A method of bending a glass sheet is carried out by utilizing the apparatus. The apparatus also includes a device for lowering the rolls to a position below the shaping surface of the lower mold, and an arrangement in the lower mold for accommodating the rolls which have been lowered. The apparatus may additionally have an upper mold coacting with the lower mold. The method comprises the steps of lowering the rolls below the shaping surface of the lower mold, transferring the glass sheet from the rolls onto the shaping surface of the lower mold while the rolls are lowered, and bending the glass sheet into conformity with the shaping surface of the lower mold under gravitational forces. The method may also include the step of lowering the upper mold simultaneously with the downward movement of the rolls, and press bending the glass sheet between the upper and lower molds.

Apparatus for and method of bending glass sheets

A glass sheet with broad band receiver antennae and an area to be heated, comprising a glass sheet, a first means provided in the heating area of the glass sheet and capable of functioning both as a heating conductor wire and as a first receiver antennae for receiving waves in predetermined frequency band, an electric source connected to the first means for supplying a heating current to the first means, and a second means provided in an area of the glass sheet other than the heating area and capable of functioning as second receiver antennae for receiving waves in a frequency band different from the frequency band for the first receiver antennae. This glass sheet further includes a stub one end of which is connected to the first means and the other of which to the second means, and a feeder connected to the second means.
