A diversity reception apparatus having a simple configuration which includes only one AD conversion unit and receives analog modulated signals is provided. The diversity reception apparatus includes a switching unit that analog-multiplexes signals received by two antennas using time-division method and is placed in front of an AD conversion unit. The apparatus also includes a time-division separation unit that (i) obtains time-division multiplexed signals digitized by driving at the same frequency as driving frequency of the AD conversion unit and (ii) separates the time-divided signals into a signal per antenna. Moreover, the apparatus includes signal quality judgment units that judge each signal quality of the time-divided signals and a composition unit that executes composition processing based on the signal quality.

Diversity reception apparatus

Digital broadcasting for transmitting program data including at least one of digital audio data and digital video data with other information is carried out by using terrestrial waves. The program data, download data corresponding to contents of the program data, and reference information correlating the download data with the program data are multiplexing with each other. The multiplexing signals are transmitted over a specific frequency band.

The deinterleaving device of this invention deinterleaves an input transmission frame and outputs the deinterleaved frame, the transmission frame being obtained by performing inter-frame interleaving for an original frame to form an intermediate frame and performing inner-segment interleaving for at least one data segment included in the intermediate frame. The deinterleaving device includes: a memory; a data write section for receiving the transmission frame and writing the transmission frame into the memory; and a data read section for releasing the inter-frame interleaving and the inner-segment interleaving simultaneously when reading data from the memory and outputting the data.

In an audio and video recording apparatus, a video signal is separated into a luminance signal and a chrominance signal. The luminance signal is separated into low frequency and high frequency components. The high frequency component signal is subjected to balanced modulation to be thereafter band-compressed by interleaving the lower side band thereof to the low frequency component. The chrominance signal is processed to be a line sequential color difference signal. An audio signal is sampled and encoded. The luminance signal, the color difference signal and the audio signal are subjected to time-axis compression multiplexing in one frame with a synchronizing signal, address signals and control signals. The multiplex signal is recorded on a recording medium.
