An internal device () is implanted in a living body (). A control section () causes a communication section () to wirelessly transmit data corresponding to electroencephalogram signals of the living body () which are detected through a group of N (N is 2 or more) electrodes, to an external device (). When the communication section () receives a designation signal designating a group of M electrode(s) (), M being smaller than N, the communication section () is caused to transmit data corresponding to electroencephalogram signals of the living body () which are detected through the group of M electrode(s) (), to the external device () in real time.

Brain-machine interface system capable of changing amount of communication data from internal device, and control method therefor

An electroencephalogram electrode includes: a bottom portion on which a connection member is placed, the connection member which is configured to supply a biological signal that is acquired from a subject through conductive gel, to an external apparatus; an annular wall which annularly extends from the bottom portion in a contact direction with respect to the subject; and a plurality of barb members which are disposed in a holding space for the conductive gel that is located inside the annular wall, and which elongate from the bottom portion in the contact direction with respect to the subject.

Electroencephalogram electrode

A headwear for electroencephalography is provided. The headwear includes a first arm to be attached to an area extending from a forehead or an occiput of a subject to a top of a head of the subject and configured to hold a first electroencephalogram electrode, a second arm connected to the first arm to be attached to a lateral side of the head of the subject and configured to hold a second electroencephalogram electrode, a third arm connected to the first arm to be attached to another lateral side of the head of the subject and configured to hold a third electroencephalogram electrode, a stretchable support member connectable to the first to third arms to cover at least a portion of the head in a direction toward the first arm, and at least one adjusting mechanism to adjust tightness of the first to third arms to the head.

Headwear for electroencephalography

An internal device of a brain-machine interface system includes: an electrode group including N electrodes, N being 2 or more; an amplification element group including N amplification elements; a communicator communicating with an external device; and a controller selectively executing one of: a normal operation mode in which electroencephalogram signals acquired through the N electrodes are supplied to the amplification element group in a manner that each of the N electrodes corresponds to a respective one of the N amplification elements, and N amplified electroencephalogram signals are transmitted; and a noise-reduction operation mode in which an electroencephalogram signal acquired through an M electrode of the electrode group is supplied to the amplification element group in a manner that each M electrode corresponds to respective plural ones of the amplification elements, and an M amplified electroencephalogram signal is transmitted, M being smaller than N.

Internal device of brain-machine interface system including noise reduction technique, and method of controlling the internal device

A biological signal drawing apparatus draws biological signals as drawing points in time series. The biological signal drawing apparatus includes: a thinner performing a thinning process to thin a first number of the drawing points corresponding to the biological signals sampled in each pixel zone, to obtain a second number of the drawing points for each pixel zone, the second number being smaller than the first number; a calculator, after the thinning process is performed, calculating a parameter based on at least one difference of values of adjacent two of the drawing points included in a group that includes: a first drawing point being a center in time series in the group and having a first value; and at least one second drawing point preceding or succeeding the first drawing point in time series and having a second value; and a processor performing a process of: performing a weighted moving average calculation using the first value, the second value and the calculated parameter, to obtain a third value; and replacing the first value with the third value.

Biological signal drawing apparatus and biological signal drawing method

Each of a plurality of electroencephalographs is adapted to measure electroencephalograms of a patient and to be connected to a communication network. Each of the electroencephalographs is operable to analyze the electroencephalograms to generate electroencephalogram information. Each of a plurality of cameras is adapted to monitor a state that the patient is subjected to the electroencephalogram measurement to transmit the monitored state as image information to associated one of the electroencephalographs. A central control monitor is connected to the communication network and operable to simultaneously displaying the electroencephalogram information and a part of the image information which are transmitted from each of the electroencephalographs via the communication network.

System for displaying vital sign data

A system for performing telemetry of multi-channel biological signals obtained from electrodes attached to a subject, is provided with a transmitter and a receiver. In the transmitter, a converter converts the multi-channel biological signals to digital data, and a storage stores the digital data. In the transmitter, a first transceiver is operable to transmit a prescribed amount of the digital data stored in the storage, and a battery is operable to supply a battery voltage to the first transceiver. In the transmitter, a switch places the battery in either a first state where the battery voltage is supplied to the first transceiver or a second state where the battery voltage is not supplied to the first transceiver, so that the first transceiver intermittently transmits the digital data. In the receiver, a second transceiver is operable to receive the digital data transmitted from the first transceiver. The received digital data is to be reproduced multi-channel biological signals at an output device.

Multi-channel biological signal telemetry systems

A plurality of nodes are connected to a network. A first node converts the image signals into image signal data and transmits the same. A second node converts the biological signals into biological signal data and transmits the same. A third node receives the image signal data and the biological signal data. A master counter is provided in one of the nodes to provide a reference count. A first counter in the first node appends a first count to the image signal data. A second counter in the second node appends a second count to the biological signal data. At least one of the first and second counters issues a query to the master counter to receive the reference count as a response. At least one of the first and the second counts is corrected, based on the reference count and a time period from the issuance of the query to the receipt of the response, so as to synchronous with the reference count.
