A disk device includes a chassis base, at least one disk rotatably supported on the chassis base, at least one carriage arm pivotable about an axis on one end and, at the other end, having a slider with a read/write head and a load bar extending from the slider, a ramp member attached to the chassis base at a position outside the disk, the ramp member having a guiding part and a parking part, and an actuator for driving the carriage arm between a loaded position in which the slider is held above the disk and an unloaded position in which the load bar rests on the parking part of the ramp member. The ramp member is provided with cleaning structure for removing powder attached to the load bar as the load bar moves along the parking part. The disk device is further provided with timing offsetting structure for offsetting the timing of the load bar of one of the carriage arms ascending the guiding part from the timing of the load bar of one of the other carriage arms ascending the guiding part when the carriage arms are driven to move from the unloaded position to the loaded position.

A magnetic disk drive unit includes a slider having a transducer mounted on one end thereof, and a spring arm for biasing the slider toward a magnetic disk. A flexure is integrally formed on a distal end portion of the spring arm, and the slider is attached to a slider placing-section of the flexure. A slit extending in a direction generally at a right angle to a longitudinal direction of the slider is formed in the slider placing-section, so that a shrinking force of an adhesive agent is cut off by this slit, thereby preventing deformation of the slider caused by the shrinking force of the adhesive agent. A flexible printed-wiring board is attached to a back surface of the spring arm, and terminals of the transducer are connected to a printed-wiring board of the magnetic disk drive unit through this flexible printed-wiring board.

Magnetic disk drive unit with improved signal feeding and extracting

A head assembly which can suppress an increase in electric resistance of plural conductor patterns even when a flexure for mounting a head slider becomes small. The head assembly includes a suspension, a flexure formed integrally with the suspension at a front end portion thereof, and a head slider mounted on the flexure and having a transducer. The head assembly further includes a first conductor pattern formed on the suspension and the flexure and having one end connected to the transducer, and a second conductor pattern laminated on the first conductor pattern with an insulator layer interposed therebetween, and having one end connected to the transducer.
